Hi everyone - I know there are probably lots of threads comparing shuttle companies etc, but I've never followed them because it's not something we've ever done before.
We always get the TGV and it has been about £15 each way in the past, but it's coming in at over £30 for our June trip.
Since we are 4 adults i thought a shuttle might be cheaper, the standard rate seems to be about 70 euros per journey. Can anyone recommend a cheaper service or is this what we should expect to pay?
Thanks!

I worked out that a shuttle is probably about the same if not cheaper at certain times than TGV. We've booked Ezyshuttle for 70E each way.

My friends (4 of them) paid 80E one way on TGV but on their return journey paid only about 45E. It must depend on times.

We arrive later in the evening, and to be honest I don't fancy navigating the airport and trying to get on a train at that time. So for easiness, we've just gone for the private transfer.

Thanks for your reply :) i think i've found a TGV that leaves a bit later (but would still get us there quicker than a transfer) for £64 each way for the four of us. Need to present the options to my family tonight when I visit.

you might find though, because the shuttle transfer picks you up very near your gate exit, and is usually there waiting for you or with you in minutes, that it works out quicker going by shuttle (it only takes 40 minutes maximum to drive from CDG to your onsite hotel by shared/private shuttle).

A shared shuttle with RS Transports would be around 55e each way for 4 people.

how do u go about reserving the transfers on shuttle bus to the resort?

Presuming you mean the VEA bus, you can:

Pay at machines at the bus stop at the airport,
Pay the driver,
Pay online: (http://www.vea-shuttle.co.uk/).

You don't reserve a seat. You'll have to queue for a place whether you've already paid or not.

Not that long. They come every 20 minutes or so and you'll normally get on the next one. Sometimes you'll have to wait for the next one but when it's very busy they tend to put more on.

Hiya Lola,
We have found RS Transport to be cheapest and they even gave me money off our next transfer for being a loyal customer!

I'd stick with the cheap TVG. It's hard to beat a 9 minute trip.

But that 9 minute trip only drops you off at the train station. It could then take a further 20 minutes to get to your hotel. You've then got the time it takes to wait for the train so you can factor in an extra half an hour. Possibly longer if you've pre-booked a specific train online. Add on the time it takes to get to the train station from your arrival terminal and the 9 minute trip suddenly isn't so quick.

A private shuttle is the easiest and in most circumstances the quickest way to get to DLP. Depending on the party size, it's often the cheapest way as well.

With transfers it's a case of horses for courses but I've found as a general rule:

VEA: Good for simplicity and small families (<4)
TGV: Good for couples or lone travellers, especially if there's a suitable train time.
Private shuttle: Good for parties that are 4 or more as it's probably the fastest, cheapest and easiest way to get to the magic!

To each their own I guess. I've read TRs where there was traffic and it took an hour+. I'll stick to the TVG which will leave more room on the shuttles for the rest of you. ;)

The TGV is a fantastic service and is worth a trip just because it's an experience in itself. The speed that the trains travel at is insane!

Before we had kids we used to use it as you can often find cheap rates online. For couples with little luggage it's fantastic.
