CD rates . BEST rate?

any one looking at cd rates and found anything over 1.5%?

I got an e-mail from Upromise the other day advertising Sallie Mae high-yield savings accounts & CDs. The rate for a 60-month CD was 2.35%. The next shorter option was a 36-month at 1.35%. I didn't read the details though so can't tell you if there are any minimum deposits required or other terms.

USAA offers higher than that if you get a Super Jumbo for a term of several years. I guess it depends on how long you're willing to let the bank keep your money. Bankrate.com offers information regarding current rates.

I had posted this exact question a week or so ago! Ally bank has a pretty good rate as does AAA. I haven't decided which to choose yet.

Why lock into a CD when Capital One offers this savings account at a comparable rate?
