has anyone brought a cd player for their room or is it not allowed? worrying about sleeping

You should have no problem sleeping, but if you need something there is the tv. Remember you have to travel with it on airplanes as well and bring back all those souveniers.

We always bring portable CD players (they're great for relaxing out on the verandah). If you felt like packing a regular one, I doubt that would be any problem for use in your stateroom since it wouldn't be any louder than a television set.

If you are in a category 3 or higher there is one in the room so I don't know why they wouldn't allow it in the other rooms.

DH and I also bring my laptop to dump digital memory sticks, and that works as CD player for us.

We both brought our portable CD players with us and it wasn't a problem. DH likes to listen to his while he's at the pool and I figured I'd take mine down to a comfy chair on deck four and snooze, but I kept forgetting to bring it with me.
