CCV Early December...

I bought resale BCV and wanted to add a small direct MK area contract for MK trips and the direct benefits. I love WL, so it seemed like a no brainer to add a small CCV contract, but I travel a lot in early December. Depending how much of my family is coming, sometimes we need 1 studio and other times we need a 2BR + 1 studio. Since there aren't that many units available at CCV and everyone loves it during the holidays, I'm afraid that even if I book right at 11 months I won't be able to get what we need.

I love WL at Christmas (like everyone else), but now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't buy CCV... any thoughts?

My alternative was to buy the same points at Poly, which I also love but won't get me as far with the point chart, which I would use at Poly for Dec stays and sometimes change at 7 months for BRV for early Feb or May stays (which seems doable to get at 7 months at least now).

I just added on at CCV. 60 points gets a studio every other year. 50 is the minimum but I went with 60 as it seems the sweet spot for a studio.

I think studio stay at 11 months in December is going to be tough once it sells out but if I can be flexible with dates I think I should be able to get in. I think the hardest is going to be studio with a tub.

I figure it's going to be about as tough as getting studios at GFV. Points are less than poly bungalows and GV's at GFV so point spread might be more even at CCV than poly or GFV. The bad thing is the one bedroom at CCV holds same as studios at CCV (only 4).This is the biggest problem I see with studio availability.

There's always the gt week options. Discount isn't available on those but I think it's 125 min for discount anyways. The gt week studios in December may already be sold out.

If you are looking at a 2 bedroom plus studio every so often you are looking at a much bigger add on so may be worth it to get the discount on larger purchase. I was only looking at small add on and 60 points had no discount. I justified because I got 2016 points for free so figured that was my discount. The only uy left to purchase with 2016 points is December though.

Keep in mind that they've also sold a number of fixed week studios for early December at CCV, which constricts availability even more.

I think the December fixed weeks for the first declaration are sold out, but I think new availability can happen when a new declaration occurs. Don't quote me on this. There's a cap to how many fixed weeks they can sell in any given week, but I don't think they can sell them all in the first declaration.

Yeah I only go for a long weekend in December, so fixed week wasn't an option for me anyway. I was really excited to buy direct into CCV since I always go in December, but now I'm thinking it's not a great idea :-(
