Has anybody stayed for a long stay at CCV or BRV during the summer? As always happens we can't figure out where we want to stay in late June. Right now we can stay pretty much anywhere (1 BR) and are having a problem figuring it out. We did an open house tour at CCV during our Christmas trip and were set on staying there but then we wondered if it would be less enjoyable than other resorts when it comes to the heat. I'm not sure why we are thinking that, but we are. Just looking for any first hand experiences....

Thanks.

The pool is really beautiful, so there's that. I mean being there is really neat, which I wouldn't really say for any of the others.

When it is so hot outside, it immediately feels better when you enter the WL building. Not sure how many in your party, but I would take BR over CC if someone is using th 2nd bed to sleep in, because BR will have the pull down Murphy beds and freshly refurbished. And well everyone loves Geyser Point!

We have 2 300 point contracts, 1 at BWV, and 1 at CC. We respectively bank our points to use every other year at every other resort for 2 week stays in a 2 bedroom villa at either BWV or CC. We love them both for very different reasons. For us CC feels a little more relaxed than BWV. CC has 2 lovely pools to choose from, and we absolutely love spending time at Geyser Point. Even during the hottest part of the day, we've always been very comfortable there. A plus is when those crazy summer thunderstorms roll in and you happen to be lounging at Geyser Point, it's relaxing to watch the storm roll over Bay Lake with the boats coming and going. We'll be back at CC this July. Can't wait.

WL has lots of trees surrounding it which gives some shade when walking outside. for me - The water features and proximity of the lake makes it feel cooler even if it really isn’t. The natural darkness inside the main WL lobby also makes it feel cooler.
I love basking in the shallows of the quiet pool!
nooks and crannies all over to hang out and relax inside and out.
refreshing breezes sitting at geyser point, too.

Agree on the shade and the theming making Wilderness feel cooler somehow in the summer. We had an old family tradition before DVC of staying in the Fort Wilderness Cabins each summer - the tree cover and the golf carts to get around always made it feel more relaxing and cooler. Since DVC, Wilderness Lodge for me still keeps a bit of that feel - boat transportation is always nice in the summer with the breezes, and the water theming plus the dark northwestern theming of the hotel always make coming in from a hot day in the parks feel more soothing.

I've got Boulder Ridge booked for June for just that reason. Overall my favorite summer DVC - followed by OKW and Polynesian. Boat transportation, more trees, and a more relaxed vibe for all of those - and in the summer, I take things slow, start days in the afternoons, take mid-day breaks from the parks, and sometimes just ride the boats around to other resorts for dinners or visits to the bars.
