On another post, someone mentioned that instead of Castaway Cay (due to hurricane damage), the Wonder would visit Key West... Honestly, I've been to Key West and can't say that I am a big fan. Rather, I would prefer "Atlantis" as a replacement for Castaway Cay...

Mostly, the reason I love Castaway Cay is because it is a relaxing "beach day". -- I was wondering if instead of Key West, the Wonder (DCL) could strike up a deal with Nassau for use of the dock for an additional day for the 4-day cruise (I realize that the ship has to leave the dock in Nassau early on the 3-day itinerary). And, with Atlantis for use of their resort (pools and beach), so that instead of the second day of the 4-day Wonder Itinerary being Castaway Cay (or Key West), it could be Atlantis. Perhaps the ship could come up with some sort of boxed lunch or lunch arrangement with Atlantis. The ship would not have to leave the dock. It could still be a beach day for the guests, and I don't think anybody would mind a wonderful day at the Atlantis beach and pools! From a marketing perspective, it would be good for Atlantis, and it would be good for DCL. As a matter of fact, my friend's decision to go on the Wonder was based primarily on the fact that I told her that we could book a room for the day at Atlantis. She had been to Atlantis and loved it. I managed to persuade her to go on the Wonder *simply for the day at Atlantis*. My second marketing tool was "Castaway Cay" -- oh boy! -- I don't think that she will get to see that in a couple of weeks!

So what do you say DCL -- will you offer us Atlantis on day 2 of the 4-day Wonder if Castaway Cay is unavailable???

I don't think anyone is to sure what kind of shape Nassau is in either. They sustained a lot of damage.

I think that is a wonderful idea. Most people would be thrilled...however I think it is an extreme long shot. That would cost DCL a great deal of money to secure the use of Atlantis facilites. I doubt it. DCL doesn't want to spend money unless it is unavoidable and that would be going above and beyond. Something that prob wouldn't do. I don't see them doing it. Now maybe they WOULD dock for 2 days though and have us pay for our own excursions.

I'd be up for paying my own way for an excursion to atlantis (subsidised if replacement for cc) what a great idea, still hope cc is okay though

Atlantis's website is reporting "minimal impact" on the resort. Water slides and pools are open as are other resort amenities. -- Since we will not be able (most likely) to visit CC on our trip, we were relieved to read that they faired well during the hurricane.

Perhaps for day 2, DCL could work out a deal where we could book a day at Atlantis at a discounted rate -- I wouldn't mind that either!

It's always nice to wish! LOL
