I sent in my dining requests for our April trip to the Poly concierge and received an email stating that a CC# is needed for my California Grille reservation. I do not have any problem with this, just do not remember having to do this in the past.
This has been in place for the past two years. If you fail to show up for your reservation, a $25 charge will be placed on your card. The policy discourages people from making reservations that they are not certain to keep.
Last year I had to cancel my CA Grill reservation the day it was scheduled and I was not charged a penalty fee. If you need to cancel, simply call the dining reservation line.
This policy apparently came about after the restaurant was closed to the public (you must be cleared to go up there by the 2nd floor desk) as they had too much traffic through the restaurant when the MK had fireworks. Once the restaurant was restricted, too many people were booking reservations just so they could get up to the restaurant, watching the fireworks, and leaving. Hence, the no-show fee.
