CC member gifts

Roughly how often does DCL change up the CC member gifts? I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth or anything, more of a curiosity thing, but I'm seeing people post the same tote now that was given last year. Did they used to change every year or so?

Pretty much whenever they want to. There's no set schedule for it. Our blue backpack we got on our Hawaii cruise in 2012 was only around about a year. The current beach bags on the Caribbean cruises has changed a bit, but it's still, basically, the same as it's been for at least 3-4 years.

Different gifts on different itineraries. But, basically, it's a bag of some sort (back pack/sling bag/beach bag) for the basic gift. The added gifts for the gold level seems to change about every year or so. The Platinum level gift has been the same for at least 2 years.

We are platinum and we got 2 stainless tumblers in our beach bag a couple of weeks ago.

We are platinum, also. I believe the tumblers are the gold level gift. Our EBTA cruise we only got one tumbler. Wish we had gotten 2.

Fun! Sounds like they've changed since we last cruised in 2013. We got the blue back pack on that cruise.

Related, but unrelated question. For our upcoming cruise, three of us are CC members and three are not. We have two rooms and have a CC member in each room. Will each room receive the CC gift or will we get just one?

No, the gift change was never on a schedule that changed every year. In the very beginning I think they changed more often but that may have been because they underestimated the volume of repeat cruisers they would have and didn't purchase enough inventory to last past 10-14 months! I know our first repeat cruises (2000-2005-ish) we got a different gift each time. But then we ran into the red and black shoulder tote and that seemed like the first gift that stuck around for years (I loved it and love the mesh bags that were inside) but we had so many that I still have about 8 with having given away several. These days, I expect that the same tote/bag will be given away 2-3 years before they make any big change (the extra gifts with the bags for Gold and Platinum may change more frequently). But it is nice that there is some difference based on itinerary now that they didn't have before.
