I want to add a DDP to my Disney reservation and will have to pay in full. If I use my Chase Sapphire Reserve will it code as travel so I get the $300 credit?

If no one has tested it, no one will really know. That said, I think if you are paying a travel agent or the hotel your odds would be better than if you are paying Disney directly. I didn't think theme parks counted.

I would check flyertalk. Just do a search on the card. Those guys usually post what they have tried. Some makes sense, but a lot is trial and error.

You can certainly look for data points on this (I've not seen anything), or you can fund a DVA with the CSR. That will code as travel. Then use the DVA to pay for your dining plan.

We went around Christmas time last year. I made hotel reservations with one card.
Then when i got the Reserve I called to add disney dining plan. It coded Walt Disney
Reservation. Then i changed my mind and cancelled and decided to pay out of pocket
. I told rep instead of crediting back the money to reserve just credit the room bill
and she did.

Chase seems to be very good as what codes as travel. If for some reason it doesn't
you can always cancel.

I do not have the Reserve, but when I used my Preferred to pay the deposit on our rooms through Disney last May, they coded as travel.
