We are getting ready to go on our first ever cruise next month (3 night on Aug 19th). I have seen several referances to Jet Ski rentals on Castaway Cay but cannot find any information on the Disney site. Can anyone confirm if this is available. If so are there any restrictions on riders (age, height etc). Our daughter is 5 and loves these kinds of things (she is a Tower of Terror fanatic).

Thanks in advance !!

Thanks for the information. One of the posts I read did mention something about a tour. The age restriction will most likley rule this out, unless we can get our daughter to do some sort of Oceaneer Club activity for the length of the tour.

Thanks again !!!

We just booked the Eco Jet Ski tour for our Castaway Cay day. We are going to ride double, while our DD princess: has fun in Scuttles.

Can anyone share their experience with this tour?

THANKS in ADVANCE !!

DH and DD(18) did the eco tour on our May 27th cruise. She is a marine biology major and loves anything to do with the water. When they signed up for the excursion, they also selected the double rider. I don't know if there was a mix up, or just plain old Disney magic, but when they arrived at the boat beach, DD got her own jet ski to drive. There were only a few people on the tour with them, so that might have had something to do with it also. Before the tour they were given a demonstration and safety instructions by a CM on the beach. They boarded the jet skis in the water and they were off to explore the island. They had a tour guide in the front and one behind them. They heard some of the islands history and visited a sandbar where they got to hold a crab and starfish. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the age group of the tour, but DH said that at a few points during the tour, the group leader let them go open throttle on the jet skis. DH loved it, but DD preferred to go slow.

I can't wait for this! I just booked this excursion today, for myself... Woohoo! :hyper:

58 more days.....:earboy2:

Is this the same as the Personal Watercraft Tour on CC????? When I called just a week ago we still weren't able to pre-book them... are you able to now????

Thanks

I called (877-566-0968) today and booked Blue Lagoon beach and asked if I could also book the"jet ski" tour. She asked if I meant the watercraft tour. I said yes. She asked what time I prefered and she confirmed the reservation.

I also put $$ on my ship board account. :D

I didn't see this excursion listed on the DCL web site. Did I just miss it or is it something they have recently added? It sounds like fun. What is the cost of the tour? And how long is it?

allears -

Your right the Eco Jet Ski Tour is not on the DCL site. I heard about it from a co-worker and then read about it on the forums plus found it listed on a June 2004 Navigator I printed out.

It is an 1 hour ride/tour around the island with a couple of stops. It costs either $95 for each single rider or $160 for a double. According to the June 2004 Navigator it is offered several times during the day.

We are going at 11:15am on our August 21st CC stop.

Hope this helps !!

We just returned from the 3 night Wonder and went on the Personal Watercraft Eco Tour while at CC. Oh my goodness was this fun! My mother and I (I am 29 years old) rode double and I drove. She held on to my life vest, and hung on tight! After some instruction on how to use the Wave Runner, we hopped on. There were about 5 wave runners, 3 were double. There were two guides, one who rode in front to lead the way and the other went from the back to the middle to assist those who were more comfortable going slower. Once we rounded the front of the DW, the water was pretty choppy, so we went slower than the rest. But I quickly got the hang of controlling the watercraft and off we went. I did get it up to full speed a few times, but with the water being choppy and getting soaked when we hit the waves, I would end up slowing down a bit. (The real reason I had to slow down is we were laughing so hard I couldn't keep my eyes open! I laugh just sitting here thinking about it!) It was really nice that we could go at our own speed, fast or slow. There was a father and daughter (she was about 9 years old) on our tour and they were the slowest, but they looked as if they were having tons of fun. The group stopped a couple times to learn about the cay and the Bahamas. One stop was on a sand bar in the middle of the ocean. AMAZING! We hopped off and waded in the water where we learned about the sea life and where sand comes from. My mother said she would have been just fine if she was left on the sand bar all day. The tour may have only been an hour, but it seemed much longer and was TONS OF FUN! Expect to get wet and don't forget the sunscreen!

That sounds awesome! I have promised my dd son (14) that I would take him parasailing this year, since I took his sister last time. But he may opt for this instead. It sounds like a blast.

Thanks for all of the great information.

THANKS to all who posted tour reports. Keep them coming !!!

:Pinkbounc :bounce:

It sounds like it will be a BLAST !! We are really looking forward to it.

THANKS AGAIN !!
