At Castaway Cay, are all of the cabanas the same? (other than the accessible and larger family ones)

I have watched all sorts of videos online, read all sorts of reviews, and I can’t tell if the only real difference in the cabanas is location on their respective beach. Are the interiors and furniture all the same? If not, what number is the nicest?

Cabana request time is fast approaching, and I’m still at a loss as to which cabana area to request and which location within that area. Party is 4 adults, made up of my “in the water all day” DH, two rookie cruisers who will want to see all that CC has to offer, and me, a “book in a shaded lounger” kind of gal. The other three party members won’t care about having more than a place to dump their stuff, but I’d like a nice shady spot to relax that’s not too far from food and restrooms.

Do we go serenity bay for the quiet? Or the family beach to be closer to the amenities and have better swimming? Or is there a particularly nice cabana that would be a better choice, regardless of its location?

WWYD?

I think I’d feel very lucky to get ANY cabana.

Oh, I realize it’s not a guarantee, but we are staying in one of the bigger concierge rooms, so I feel I’ve got a pretty good chance, and if I’m going to send in the request I want to make the right choice. Changing later would be difficult, so getting the best option early on is my goal.

I haven't stayed in any of the cabanas, so keep that in mind with my opinion. After watching many YouTube videos about the cabanas, I decide that I would only get one on the family beach, even though I don't travel with kids. There's way more to do with a closer walk. The family cabanas come with some additional beach equipment that you don't get at the adults beach. You might want to search on YouTube for videos/reports. Just make sure you are mindful about the date of the video ( within the last year will be more accurate than 6 years ago).

I would request family beach, lowest number cabana possible. We like number 2 the most because of the proximity to non cabana related stuff, but have also had 5,7, and 19 as well and they are just fine.

How is the water in that area? Is it deep enough to swim? I’ve seen reports that the water at Serenity Bay is too shallow to swim, so wondering if that will be the tipping point to move to Family Beach.

Also, how is the privacy in the low numbered cabanas? I’ve seen reports that the higher numbers are closer together with less vegetation. And have all the cabanas you’ve had been identical inside?

Amount of water is dependent on the tide. The least amount of water we had was by 19. But it worked fine for my husband and daughter (too cold for me that trip). Privacy is much better in the lower numbers. Minimal vegetation in the higher numbered ones so there’s almost no privacy. All the cabanas I’ve been in are identical (just different color couch and chair cushions).

You can definitely swim at Serenity Bay. Depth will of course depend on tide, but I've gone out up to my neck and still not been close to the buoys.

We've had cabana 24, which is nice because on one side there's no cabana and on the other the vegetation provides some privacy. We did have people from Serenity Bay keep walking right next to our cabana (there's a little path but it's not an actual walking path, despite people apparently thinking it was). It was a little annoying but not a deal breaker.

All the cabanas will be very similar inside, except the Grand because it holds more people.
