I have both CBR preferred & Pop preferred booked. CBR is $515 more. I have a 4 & 7 year old and am going the week leading up to Christmas. Is CBR worth the extra $? If so why or why not? I've never stayed in either, so would love your feedback! Thanks so much

Stayed at CBR over Christmas twice. Once when my boys were 6 and 8, and once with the oldest son when he was 16. We have stayed at CBR over 10 times, and would not hesitate to go back again. Never stayed at POP, but it is a matter of preference with you. I love CBR, but you will have those who disagree with my opinion.

If you think you will get a lot of use out of the pool area, go with CBR. All moderate resort pools are more heavily themed than the value resorts, and include slides and a hot tub. I think the queen beds are a good reason to upgrade too.

The pool is very nice at CBR. My son loved the slides, however I did NOT love the numerous bus stops at CBR. When you're coming back from MK late at night and you get to the resort but still have 15 minutes on the bus....it's not so magical. Pop preferred gets my vote.

can you get art of animation ?

Pop is my favourite value, but I love CBR much more! The moderates are a big step-up from value resorts, IMO. We like the queen beds, the newly refurbished rooms, the TS dining option, the beautiful grounds, the tropical island atmosphere, the great pool area, the hammocks, the extra quiet pools, and the extra space in the rooms. With the ages of your children, i believe that CBR preferred would be perfect!

Of course, we don't mind the bus stops around the resort. I actually like thee extra stops as it means that no rooms are very far from a bus stop. Once we are on the bus, we don't mind a few extra minutes, but that is only our opinion, and many people find this an issue. If a single bus stop is more important than the CBR advantages listed above, then Pop might be the better option for you.

Either resort is really good value, though, so enjoy which ever you choose!

What you will get at CBR over Pop:

Bigger rooms
Queen beds
Double sinks
Ceiling fans
Coffee maker in room
Pool slides
Hot tubs
Multiple covered bus stops
Sit down restaurant
Lusher grounds
Relaxed laid back atmosphere

Now it's up to you to decide if the above amenities are worth the extra $$.

We stayed at POP that week last yr. in a preferred room due to being able to get FD room. We were pleasantly surprised, but did miss our usual resort, CSR. I am sure your kids would love the theming at POP,as we did ASMo when our kids were that age, and they loved the giant characters. The moderates like CBR do have queen beds and a little bigger room, and the pools do have slides. DD also missed the hammocks they have around the lake at CSR( not positive if CBR has the same). CBR is very spread out with 7 bus stops, but with preferred you should be closer to the front and food court.

It will depend on your priorities and budget. If you are saving money, and can use that towards meals, souvineers, etc. that can be helpful, especially if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room. We knew we'd be in the parks most of the time, so the lower cost helped us afford to do BBB and an extra meal OOP. But if you want to spend more time at the resort, swimming if weather permits, you might want slides and a pool bar to enjoy. Also, did you get a FD reservation? Because at POP you will have quick service plan, but can pay a little extra to upgrade to regular dining plan, but at moderates that is included. This is impt. if you plan to do TS meals, such as the character meals.

If you are going with another adult, go with CBR. You'll have more storage area in general, 2 sinks, etc. if it's just you and the kids I would stay at Pop to save some $, and I think kids will love the atmosphere.

I have stayed at CBR with my family and loved it, I would go there again. The following year we were looking to extend our trip so we opted for ASSp and we loved staying there as well, because, we were at Disney! Your kids will not know the difference between moderate or value, mine just loved swimming in the pool and the Disney theming at the value. I haven't stayed at Pop yet, but $500 is a lot of money. For 5 days you have an extra $100 to spend on what you want, food, gifts, a Pirate cruise, etc. If I had the chance to save that much money then I would opt for the value, however if money is not an issue then I wouldn't hesitate to stay at CBR since we loved it there too.

I had considered POP, too, but then found out that the beds were fulls instead of queens and that won't work. My husband likes room when he sleeps. Alas, a snuggle sleeper he is not! I also went online and found a bunch of pics and showed my daughter both pools. She liked POP's, but when she saw CBR's her eyes glazed over and her jaw dropped. Needless to say, there was no competition there. And from there the rooms were bigger, there was a chance of a murphy bed for my littlest, they had a beautiful new refurb and the grounds are just gorgeous. Oh, and we're vying for FD next year and I'd much prefer getting the regular plan for free over the quick service plan, but that doesn't apply to your scenario, so just sayin'.

As many have stated, though, it just depends on how important the aforementioned amenities are to you. For me, they're worth the extra dollars. Hey, no matter what you choose you're going to have a great trip!
