CBR vs OKW vs AKV Kidani for 9 days in Aug?

It’s been a long wait to go back to WDW! We’re booked for 9 days on-site. Currently have CBR for about $289/night. The main draw being the skyliner. We then switch to Universal for four days after WDW.

Given the hotel price, we started looking at renting points for OKW or AKV Kidani. Likely save us about $500-800. We have seven day PH and plan to spend most days in the parks (but head back to our room for lunch some days.) We’ve done WDW twice before so fairly familiar with getting around/touring strategies, etc. but stayed offsite and had a car then.

We’re fine with resort transportation or even Uber if we’re in a rush. Not too concerned about resort amenities. We were hoping for BWV but doesn’t seem to be available.

With these options, what would you choose?

The biggest problem with Kidani is that you're all the way to one side of the World. You get to see lots of animals, but realistically, watching the animals for half an hour is about as good as watching them for 5 hours, and the price you pay is longer commutes to everything.

AKV and OKW (especially OKW) will offer more room than CBR, most likely. If you are talking a studio sized room, a downside to AKV is you'll get one queen bed and a queen pullout. OKW will have 2 beds, as I expect CBR does. OKW rooms will likely be larger, though. If EP and HS are important to you, the ease to get there from CBR is a big deal. For us, AKL has the best on-site dining options of any resort, but not sure if you feel the same - we love to eat there. OKW really only has Olivia's, which is really good. But OKW also has the peaceful easy boat ride to anything at Disney Springs, so dining and entertainment options are an easy trip there (a much nicer trip than Skyliner, in our opinion!). Pros and cons to all, but the good news is you don't have a bad choice - only have to choose from 3 good options! Good luck with your choice, and have a nice trip!

They all really have commuting issues, depending where you're going. The only 'long' commute from AKL is really the MK. The other parks and DS are not a bad ride.

I would keep CBR. We were there in November in a preferred room and loved it, We were so close to the food court and took the internal bus to the Skyliner which we enjoyed taking to Epcot and HS. We were not crazy about AKL the one time we stayed there. We do get to visit the animal Savannahs as we always have dinner at Boma and sometimes a breakfast as well.
