CBR vs. family suite at ASMu?

I had this debate last year and the family suite turned out to work well for us. But, we needed a separate room for DS to nap/sleep in. This year I'm thinking it'd be okay with one room since we most likely won't need nap times or the food in the room. What are the pros/cons of each option? I've heard that CBR is HUGE and unless we get a close room we could walk ourselves to exhaustion, but the pool is definitely a plus with two kids (DD5 and DS2.5). What are the travel times from CBR to each park? It would cost us less to stay at CBR. But we could just stay in a regular room at one of the AS's for even less than that. I just can't decide, but need to asap so we can get moving with ADRs, etc. We're looking to go the end of Sept. Thanks!

cbr is huge the pirate rooms are so VERY VERY Far away ... my daughter at 2.5 needed a nap most days but we were getting up at rope drop and for the most part she napped in the stroller. so above all don't go for a pirate room as amazing as they are it is too far of a walk... remember when you get on a bus it may have to stop at 5 other stops before it leaves the resort or it may just stop at one depending on if you were at the start of it's loop or the end and that can very but not a whole lot so if you are at the end of the bus loop it can be difficult to get a seat and if you are at the beginning you have to sit on the bus and wait an extra 10 or so minutes just to get out of the resort before going to the parks, the pool is great though... i wouldn't stay there without a car, too much of a hassel we were in the pirate rooms and it was a 10 minute walk to the pool/food, that didn't seam so bad to me but after 3 days in the parks and with 3 more to go your feet start hating the walk.... also if you stay here request a ground floor room otherwise you have to haul the stroller down stairs every time you leave the room because there are no elevators.

We loved CBR. We were fortunate and our room was close to the main area. It is a big resort, but the resort area has 5 seperate bus stops as opposed to the All-Stars one stop. And, they do have a very efficient bus system. Also, they have an "internal shuttle", but depending on where you stay, since the order of the bus stops is the same, you may be able to board a MK bus at your resort stop which will stop at the main area (for dining, etc.) so you don't have that much walking.

What we found great about transport was that when we stayed at All-Star or POP, the buses were SO crowded leaving the theme park at night, they were packed and standing room only. The buses to CBR were not as crowded, and the line at the bus stop at the end of the day was not bad either.

Be careful, we liked CBR so much that we bought into DVC. CBR is not DVC resort, but we could not go back to value.

we have stayed at both- I agree withthe bus stuff- at CBR- your bus will make many stops in the resort but might be less crowded- and the resort overall felt less crowded to us anyway than ASMu did- the room is OK - I wish there were more of the family suites in other resorts we loved the room we had there, and having 2 bathrooms was GREAT - and the pools were very close - at CBR each "island" has their own small pool and laundry facility although for us it was still a bit of a walk from our room. If you want a more relaxing feeling resort than I would go with CBR - it just had a different less chaotic feeling than ASMu did. I think next time we'll try a cabin since adjoining rooms aren't a guarantee - I don't think we'll be going back to an allstar despite the suite.
