I've done some reading already, but I need someone to give it to me straight in my situation.

Price difference is $2.50/night, so negligible .

What we currently have booked:
Me and my family (DH, 3 kids) at CBR for 9 nights with AP discount.
My mom at CBR for 5 nights with GoM promo.

What I'm considering:
Split stay:
My mom and two of my kids in one room at CSR with AP discount for 5 nights, myself/DH and remaining kid(s) at CSR with AP discount for 5 nights, then moving to CBR when my mom leaves halfway through trip.

It's gonna take long phone calls with Disney to make the split stay possible and I'm just not sure if it's worth the hassle this close to the trip, but just looking at pics/reviews I suspect I would prefer CSR to CBR in general. It would also be really nice to get to stay at another resort that we haven't been to before.

Thoughts?

Personally, with three kids I wouldn't do a split stay. Too much hassle and then you have a day where you don't have a room between check out and your room being ready at the next resort. Personally, I love CBR though so I'd be happy to stay there the entire time. The only time I'd do a split stay would be if I had an opportunity to stay at a pricey deluxe resort but couldn't manage for the entire trip. Mod to mod wouldn't be worth it to me.

I'm not a huge fan of CBR in all honesty....CSR to us is by far waay better...We like to refer to it as a Deluxe-Lite. It has a ton to offer.
Besides having the best bus service out of ANY RESORT....*( I know this is subjective ) but in 10 days of staying here, not once did I have to stand or give my seat up to anyone. That never happens.Ever * For me at least* I might get a day or so here n there.
Besides that, the pool area is awesome. It has one of the best slides out of all on property, and the opening of the pool( each morning is kinda neat ) Also It is a large pool, and also has a nice poolbar/snack area, & has The BIGGEST hot tub on property right there too.

The theming here is nice too. Divided into 3 different locations, each nicer than the other. All with their own bus stops.

The Food choices are plentiful as well. Siestas I already mentioned (by the pool) Rix/Lounge & also Rix Cafe , The Pepper Market which used to be excellent. I know that's changed since I went. Also the 2 TS restaurants. Las Ventanas & my true hidden Gem Maya Grill.

There also used to be activites for the lake area. Not sure if this is available anymore:confused3.

The grounds are AMAZING, especially at night, & the rooms although now are a lil bit older were all done up nicely.
