Can you swim in Barefoot Bay?

I'm just wondering because the main pool will be closed during our August stay.

Sorry, you can't swim in any lakes or other bodies of water on Disney property. There are no-swimming signs at all of them. The water is not clean, and freshwater lakes in FL can contain an organism that can cause a potentially fatal encephalitis (google Naegleria fowleri if you want more info).

There are plenty of other pools at CBR for you to swim in. As the previous poster mentioned you don't want to swim in the lakes in Florida.
