Just thouht I would pass this info along from my TA who spoke directly with Disney regarding Pop Warner staying at CBR:

"Caribbean Beach is not a targeted hotel at this point. That of course is subject to change at any point. The number to the group department is 407-939-7810. If you'd like to ask them directly, they may be able to give you more information."

Just thot I would pass it along!!

I must not be very bright bc everyone else seems to know this already, but could someone please tell me what pop warner is? And why are they coming to Disney?? Thanks so much!:cool1:

Youth football superbowl. Not so bad really. But it's also cheerleading championship. Think thousands of cheertypes. It's a nightmare at the resorts they stay at and on the buses. Not so bad in the parks (though I've heard nightmare stories about that too, never seen it.) Studios closes early for a party for them all on the Friday night of their visit (Dec. 7 I think.)

We're staying at All Star Sports for one night on our travel day, Dec. 7th. I'm sure this is one of the hotels they use, but we wouldn't be arriving until late at night, up the next a.m. and checking into WL. Do you think it will be noisy say around 11pm or a little later?

I think it will be noisy. We weren't there during pop warner but we were there for some sort of cheer competition because we heard cheering until well after midnight at All Star Sports...granted my 9 year old nephew was more than happy with a resort full of teen/preteen girls running around :) and they really didn't bother us at all. They were actually very helpful and helped get my kids on the bus late one night when I came back by myself to the resort. I wouldn't worry about one night.

It's the cheerleaders you have to watch out for. I thought POR was the overflow spot.

This is only based on heresay as I haven't experienced a PopWarner time myself (thankfully), but I hear they can be quite noisy late and the cheer squads tend to practice around the pool.

So, I've heard a lot of people say that if you try to get away from the pool, you'll be much better off. Maybe call and request a parking lot view room? You'll only be there one night, so it might be better to brave a farther walk to check-in/out in exchange for some peace and quiet.

Like I said, can't speak from personal exp.

I was at ASMo for Pop Warner week in 2003. My ONLY room request was not near Pop Warner. We were put in a wing of Mighty Ducks that had no cheerleaders and faced away from the pool. It was very quiet for my young children to sleep. I would highly reccomend that if you are on a budget and are staying with the Pop Warner, make the same request as me. It's not the time to enjoy a view of the pool, or a specific area of the resort. Just AWAY from Pop Warner.

The resort was hot or cold with cheerleaders. When they had their events going on the pools, arcade, and food court were wonderful. When they did not have events, there were giggling and/or chanting girls everywhere.

I did not have any trouble in the parks or on the busses with Pop Warner. They were somewhat identifiable in the parks, but they were not in a majority there, so they did not dampen our trip. We traveled early for EMH and returned early from the parks, so they were not a problem on the busses.

I would not rule out a trip during Pop Warner, and I wouldn't cancel a ressie over Pop Warner, but be aware that YOU will have to work around THEM.

Most seemed more intersted in their cheerleading activities than the parks:confused:

hi this is my 1st trip in dec, dec1-10;i was scheduled for por but just changed to cbr as i got a substantial discount, upon reading about pop warner i wonder if that's why i couldn't get discount at por but could get at cbr. i've already made reservation for next year and por booked solid, managed to get a room but not what i wanted, is this pop warner thing why?

We were there a few years ago for POP warner...eh...slightly more crowded, yes. POR-RS was a mess! That's why we decided to cancel the split stay and just stay at WL. We stayed off site that year, so we really didnt hear any of the "cheerleaders" although, my DD would LOVE to see them!:confused3
