Hello everybody,

I was just wondering what everyone here thought of CBR, Because we just upgraded to a moderate from POP (value) so I was just wondering what everyone thought of it. But I wouldn't like anything too too negitave because me and my family are trying to get as many positives as we can.

Any other comments would be appreciated!

Thanks everyone!!

CBR is a beautiful resort. You will have a great time there. You may want to check out the CBR FAQ thread and my photos of the resort. Link is below.

I really enjoyed my stay at CBR. One of the best things about the resort is taking it easy and strolling the grounds like you don't have a care in the world. Take time to enjoy the trees, flowers, and hammocks.

I liked the atmosphere inside the food court; it feels like you're outside at night in a little village.

They have a pretty large gift shop; I was able to find many things to shrink my bank account.

The main pool was far too small, and so was the slide...VERY short. The main pool is undergoing a huge overhaul and should be really cool when it's done. I don't know when your trip is, but the main pool is not scheduled to reopen until mid-September.

You will have a fridge, a coffee pot, 2 sinks, and a ceiling fan, all of which you wouldn't have in your room at Pop. CBR rooms are 340 square feet, versus 260 at Pop, so you're getting 80 more square feet too! Do note that CBR does not have elevators, but every building only has 2 floors. Request a first floor room if stairs are a problem for anyone in your group.

Hope this helps you feel a little better about your decision!

We stayed at the CBR only once, before a Disney cruise to have access to the bus to the ship. Resort is nice, huge and as I said we stayed for one day one night, we like deluxes. I personally feel any up grade out of a value is a plus. We visit alot of moderates for lunch times and some have some great free entertainment in the evening. We change up our nights doing this, we stay 10-12 nights and do alot of resort hoping. You'll not regret the switch, we have stayed at a value, to escape a hurricane and Amtrak cancellation to get home and the crowds in the pool and food courts let alone the huge lines for the buses can really crush a trip, for 3 nights we lasted at Pop, good to see, glad we had the chance but never on purpose or again. A resort on vacation to us is more than a place to sleep and shower, we enjoy time at a resort and want full amenties and services.

We really enjoyed CBR. We've also stayed at CSR and if we ever stay at a Mod again, we will be going back to CBR. :)

We loved the tropical feel. It is soooo relaxing and quiet. We stayed in the Jamaica section which wasn't a bad walk to the food court area.

I hope you enjoy your trip. :)

I thought it was great. We had a room in Aruba overlooking the lake and quiet pool. It was a short walk across the island to the main building. The island would be great for kids. I enjoyed the hammocks.

We have stayed there 3 times (all in early Dec) and it was fantastic. Clean rooms, great food court and gift shop. We never request a certain building because we drive our car to the main house and have breakfast, put the refillable mugs in the car, hop the bus....when we come back we get the mugs and have a nice hot cocoa or coffee. Much better than hoofing it by foot or carrying around mugs all day.

My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon last fall and loved it. It was very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are a nice size and there is a small pool at each of the villages. We stayed at the Trinidad South village which is the farthest away from everything, so if you don't like long walks you may want to request a different area. Although if you do end up in that area look for the skeletons hanging from the trees across the water. They seem to only be there at certain times though. Good luck and I'm sure you'll love it!:)

The thing with moderates is that you either hate them or absolutely love them. We love CBR, the rooms are large with a great price. We love the lush tropical feel of CBR and we book preferred rooms so we are close to the main pool and food court. We are going back in Dec. and can't wait. We are so excited to be going again soon!!!

We were at CBR in 2006 and we are looking forward to going back in 2009. We love everything about CBR!!

We really liked our stay last August. The downside for us was the reaaaaaaally long walk from our bus stop to our room. It was just me and my then 5 year-old son, and after a long day in the park the last thing either of us wanted was a hike.

It was a beautiful resort but not for us. I like to have shade for my rests in the afternoon and it was hard to come by at this resort. Everything was clean and neat, the staff were friendly, buses were prompt, etc. We are just a Port Orleans Riverside family.

We stayed at CBR this past November and I honestly didn't love it. It was just okay. We'd previously stayed at POFQ and enjoyed that much more.

Now I know most people will say it's because of the size difference, but that really didn't bother us. We like to walk, so the fact that it was a bigger resort was really a plus.

But we felt that the service was lacking. They just weren't as friendly as we'd found elsewhere. We'd had it noted on our reservation that we were there for hubby's birthday and there wasn't a single happy birthday mention by anyone at check-in or check-out. I was just a little disappointed. I wasn't expecting a celebration or anything, but I would have thought they could have at least uttered two little words.

Also, we were not informed that there would be any construction work going on while we were there. We knew that the main pool was going to be closed for refurbishment, but that wasn't scheduled to happen until after our stay, so we figured everything was fine. And the pool was open. But what they didn't tell us was that there would be construction going on around the pool area and because of it, part of the walkway was blocked off and we were detoured through a parking lot any time we wanted to walk over to Old Port Royale.

It is a beautiful resort, but we just didn't feel the same Disney magic that we've felt on other stays.

Stayed once and won't go back. :sad2: Way too spread out for my taste and the service was awful. :headache: Crossing a dimly lit parking lot at night alone did not thrill me and actually, for the first time ever, made me nervous getting back to my room.

This is the only mod we've stayed at and I much prefer either values or deluxe. Actually my preference now is more the values. I don't care about getting places very fast and that's what the deluxes do best - values are just more fun for us. I liked CBR, and if I wanted quiet it's the place I'd choose, but all things considered it's just OK for us.

We really enjoyed our stay there in 2006. It is a beautiful resort.

The DH and I stayed there last year and LOVED it! We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Loved the beautiful landscpaing and the tropical theme. It seemed so peaceful there. Even though the buses were packed on the way back from the parks each night, we hardly saw anyone except when we would walk to the pool and Old Port Royale. We thought the food court was great--lots to chose from and very good! The bus service was great too...the buses were always there within a few minutes of waiting.

We have stayed at CBR several times and love it ... we stayed when it was the first and only moderate resort and it was our first on-property stay ... isn't there something about always fondly remembering your first?!?:flower3:

At any rate ... loved it and our now adult DD remembers it fondly as well, in fact we may book it for our next trip this winter!
