CBR is our favorite resort, your 9 yr olds will love it, the skyliner, the pool(s), the Murphy bed so they don’t have to share. Don’t worry about the walking distance, it’s not a big deal once you learn your way around, and a nice uncrowded walk seems really pleasant after the parks. Go for Jamaica if you can, we have been in every building in Jamaica and they are all fine. The Jamaica has it’s own pool for an emergency quick dip, while you do the laundry. Jamaica imho is best for the buses. if you can’t get Jamaica then all zones are equal, possibly Aruba next as close to riviera and their restaurants And their buses. They have a sky liner hub, which is good for getting off but would recommend queuing at CBR hub To get on.
There is a fantastic huge main pool with great slide the boys will love, that is near the food hall and bar. the only downside for CBR is they ruined the food hall in the refurb, but it still has food and most people can find something, but with the sky liner you have access to boardwalk/POP/AoA/Epcot and lots of food options.
if you stay at POP you will be going over CBR every time you use the sky liner and experience regret
. Though POP does have great theming, if you stay at CBR you can take the sky liner to visit both POP and AoA and see all the fun stuff.
if your friends are at the boardwalk you (or they) can just get on the sky liner to meet up. Sky liner queues move very fast.
