What would everyone recommend we stay with DS7 and DS1.5? We have always stayed at CSR and really enjoyed ourselves but would like to try something new. I know DS would love the pirate theming at CBR but I'm a little worried with all the reviews of how far away the pirate rooms are from everything else. We've always wanted to try WL as well and thought with the little one it would be nice to be close to MK, but we have always loved to pool and waterslide at CSR and don't know if WL is comparable. Give me the pros and cons please!

We were going to stay in the Pirate rooms in October for Fd until we found out where they were and stayed at POP (that's another funny story lol). Dd and I are booked at WL in May. What is so funny is we live 60 miles from Banff and every hotel around there is themed the same as WL. We would have never considered staying at WL lodge for that reason. Btw we loved Blizzard beach also:confused3 When dh and I went there for dinner in October we loved it and decided we had to stay there someday. Well dd LOVES the Grand Californian and wanted to stay there but with all the refurbs going on at DL right now the value for our dollar had greatly diminished. We chose WL which IMO is even nicer and better themed than the GC. Some people find it dark we found it warm, cozy, relaxing and inviting. Kind of like the lobby of Bass Pro :rotfl2: A beautifully themed resort!:thumbsup2

Cannot comment on CBR but I would always take a deluxe over a mod
Pros WL
boats to MK, CR & FW (I find the boat very relaxing)
WCC (not everyone likes it but we enjoy it)
Queen beds
Hotel style versus Motel style
High fireworks from the beach & water light parade (forget the name)

Thanks for the info. I didn't even think about fireworks from the beach!!! How about the pool? Ds7's biggest concern is that the pool has a nice waterslide. :)

the slide at the pool at WL is nothing really to write home about. :( but i would take WL over CBR any day! Love the boat ride, the electric water pageant, and whole feel of the resort. CBR is very spread out ... with little ones, we drove everytime we needed to go to the food court as we were in Trinidad North or South .. whichever one is the furthest. It was a very frustrating stay with little kids.

JMHO!

Hi, we stayed at CBR last May! It is a beautiful tropical resort!!!! We enjoyed the feel of the resort. The room was great! Our DD is in a wheelchair and the HC room was great for her! We had 2 rooms due to our family of 5. The main pool was busy and looked wonderful. We decided to go to the quiet pool. We shared it with one family. The food court was good, we ate there a few times. We had enough choices. The down side to CBR for us was it is a big resort which is spread out. We found this difficult for our DD. We were in Aruba. This Apr. we will stay at the WL for the 1 st time! We are looking forward to our stay! My DH loves the look of the WL!
All the best in what you decide! Enjoy your trip!:wizard:

And to add to everybody else's WL+ It is all in one Building which is very nice when traveling with kids. And also when traveling with kids walking into the Lobby at WL just pulls all the stress right out of ya.;)

Just back from a stay at CBR and in a pirate room.

We loved it! The walk to the food court was 7 minutes (I timed it) but we only ate 1 lunch there and 1 breakfast, so it was not an issue for us.
We drove so we did not have to wait for busses except for one day and we waited less than 5 minutes both ways.

We really like the theming of the WL and would like to stay there as well-but it had (to us) more of a lodge hotel feel vs. CBR which definitely had a resort feel to it. I was able to take the kids to the beach and lay on a hammock while they played-definitely a nice way to relax on vacation! :goodvibes

I didn't find CBR to be at all spread out...BUT I've never stayed anywhere else (only once to Disney) so take that for what it means to you.:confused3

Yes, you have to walk a bit, but I never (even with tired kids etc) found it to be overwhelming. And the theming of the Pirate rooms was second to none, imho! I've seen pics of other resort rooms, and they don't hold a candle, from what I can tell.

My Mom was with us, and she had a regular CBR room (Nemo)...my girls spent one night with her, and they both commented on how "boring" her room was in comparison, as did she, once she saw our room!

Would you say that CBR is similar to CSR for the distance between features? I know a lot of people have complaints about CSR being spread out but we didn't find it bad at all.

We love Wilderness lodge and especially the pool.I find it's just the right size and very relaxing swimming with the ducks, lol. The water slide isn't much compared to a waterpark, but if your kids are young ,they'll enjoy it just the same. The biggest advantage for us is the 5 minute boat ride to Magic Kingdom, our favourite park.
