There were 4 of us and we all packed a travel size in our carry on and a regular size in our other luggage. You can definatly say we weren't the stinky ones standing next to you in line. :)

Great pics! I am glad I made the choice to book CBR. Did you get a peek at the pirate rooms? That is the room I booked for Sept. I thought it would be really cool for the kids. Did you like the pool area? Thanks for the help!

The pictures clandrum posted are a pirate room. I posted some shots earlier in this thread of you want to see some different angles.

Great Pics everyone... I will be staying here in September for the first time, and these pics and getting me anxious... We upgraded from Pop... We figured a 14 day trip, we wanted a nicer resort with bigger rooms... I hope it was a wise upgrade...

What time are you going in Sept? We booked the pirate room from 9/20-9/29! Can't wait, first time at WDW!

You're welcome! :goodvibes

There is a bus stop in each village, plus one at OPR. So you are never far from one. Some buses start at Jamaica and some start at Martinique. If you happen to get on the bus at the very first stop and have to make all the other stops it takes about 8 minutes. Yes, I timed it! Once leaving the resort it takes 3 minutes to get to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to AK & MK. We had the best bus service when we were there this earlier this year, with 90% of the waits being 5 minutes or less.

Does the bus go the parks straight from the village stops?
Or do you take one bus to the main building and then the resort bus to the parks?

the buses go straight to the parks, though be warned they do make a stop at EVERY village, so depending on where on the route you are, you will be sitting on the bus for a while as it stops at each village.

There is an interior resort bus that will take you from your village to Old Port Royale, but it seems to come rather infrequently and it is much faster to just walk from your village there.

I noticed you had a small pool outside your room.
How far away from the main pool are the Pirate Rooms?

The pirate rooms are in Trinidad South, which is about a 5-7 minute walk(depending on your speed) up to Old Port Royale and the main pool.

Pirate room May 8-16th!

Just got back froma pirate room and wanted to give a review........IT WAS G-R-E-A-T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, we lucked out with an upper level, corner room...So, that means more quiet(less people walking right past your window etc) AND more light (corner rooms have 2 large windows instead of just 1). From our left window we were able to see the lake and the beautiful landscaping, and from the right window, the courtyard below filled with lush, tropical landscaping. So beautiful! This was considered a standard pirate room, so seeing the lake was such a pleasant surprise!

The rooms look awesome. Beds, 'plank floor"look carpet, skull on curtain that separates vanity area, Pirates of the Caribbean picture on wall, crate/barrel furniture, trunk, compass decorated table/chairs, and...even the bathroom has pirate touches. A new pirate ship patterend shower curtain and a beautifully carved pirate ship on the wall of the shower/tub area. The theming is perfect!!!! Not silly, very cool. And, storage is EXCELLENT. The crate furniture is extra deep so it holds a ton! I had brought a box of cereal with for breakfast in the room, and standing it up in the drawer, there was still a few inches to the top of the drawer! They're extra deep! The trunk is also a large drawer, again, extra deep. no skinny "hotel room" dresser drawers in this room anywhere! We were able to store our things, plus everything we had purchased with no problems.

Even though we did rent a car, we took a walk to old port royale for dinner one evening. So nice and peaceful. It did not take more than 6 minutes, and was very beautiful as the path is next to the lake. Upon reaching Old Port Royale, you see lots of colorful umbrellas shading tables by the water, the awesome pirate fort pool and hear steel drum and calypso music. So great! It feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the real world, and...isn't that what a vacation is for? Disney's themeing here is to-die-for!

We have stayed at Beach Club, Beach Club Villas and Animal Kingdom Lodge, and this, even though it is in a different resort category, was IN NO WAY, INFERIOR to those others. This was WONDERFUL! The rooms are awesome, the quiet pool is close if you just want a quick swim, the lake is just around the bend for a beautiful sight, the walk to Old Port Royale was pleasant, the Pirate Pool looked awesome if you do want to swim there as well, staff was friendly, housekeeping did a good job. Parking is close to the room if you do rent a car, and if not, the bus stops are in each village as well. I can't wait to go back, I miss it already and it's only been a few days!!!!!!! I just wanted to tell all of you what a great stay it was!

Thanks for the info!
We're considering making the trip a Pirates Trip.
From the Pirates Room to the Pirates Cruise to joining the Pirates League and catching Pirates the Not So Scary Party...

Thanks for the review happymomof1! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I can't wait to stay there for the first time in November. :goodvibes

Yes the buses go straight from your CBR village to the parks! You can get on the bus at whatever stop you are closest to. Some of the buses start at Martinique and some start at Jamaica before they make all the other village stops. There is a quiet pool in each village, so there will be one close to you no matter where your room is. From Trinidad South (pirate rooms) to the main pool is about a 5-8 minute walk depending on where your room is.

Thanks for the wonderful review, happymomof1. It makes me feel good that I made the right decision! We are booked for the pirate room in September and we are so excited! I was a little worried about the walk to OPR but 5-7 mins is nothing! I'm glad you had a great time!

We were also given a corner room along with a free upgrade of a waterview. I didn't post a pic earlier of the corner view but I will now.

Wow, the corner room looks great, I should put that in on my requests. We leave in 25.

Last time we went we were in Aruba and for the most part, the bus seemed to pick up at Jamaica and then Aruba and then leave for the parks without going around to the rest of the stops. Occasionally it did go around. Maybe it has something to do with capacity??

What requests should I make for our trip? I am thinking of a prefered building. It will be my 79 yo mother and myself. Is Martinique closer to the food court? She cant walk up stairs, so should we request a first floor?? Anything else would be appreciated.

Thanks
