CBR people try and wait for your call.

I was faced with a similar problem when the Pop Century opening was pushed back. I found out about the closing here on the boards. So I called CRO and was told the same as everyone. Someone will call you. But being the nervous nelly I am I didn't want to wait and risk the All Stars being booked. (at the time we thought $$$ wise we needed to stay at a value resort) So I canceled my Pop Century reservation and made a reservation at the ASMO. But it was a preferred rate. Which got me a little made cus I felt I should be offered at least the same. But all she had available was the preferred rate. So I took it. Not to much later I read more post here saying they were being offered the AKL for a bit more then the Pop Century rate would have been. I was confused why I was not offered this and I called back. I was told because I took things in my own hands and did not wait for the call that I would not be offered the discounted AKL rate. That offer had to come from the people making the calls. And since I had canceled my Pop Century reservation I would not be getting a call. I was a bit ticked off. So I hung up, stewed for a bit and called back. Fortunately I got a very helpful CM that was able to stop the cancellation of the Pop Century and had someone call me that night for the offer of the AKL. Had I not got that CM I might have screwed myself on a upgrade.

So unless you wouldn't want an upgrade to what ever they might offer or you just can't stand waiting (like me ) I'd try waiting for your call. Considering that you will either get a moderate at the rate you are currently booked at or maybe the AKL for a slightly higher rate.

I feel for you all and understand your frustrations. I sure hope everyone gets their call soon

We also had reservations at Pop Century for this past February. I also called & changed to All Star Music. We wanted to make sure that we got rooms for the same price - we had 2 rooms for 11 nights booked. We were happy with our decision & enjoyed the All Star Music -it was our first time staying at that resort. Now we have reservations for the Caribbean - our favorite resort - for October. This trip is to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We will 'sit tight' & wait for the call this time!!!! We hope that the new arrangements turn our 'great' for everyone involved!!! ºoº

I'm finding it a bit hard to sit tight. Our vacation is just a little over a month away. I'm worried everything will be booked and we'll be downgraded

Part of me is saying, "Wait...it might be worth it" but the other part of me is saying, "DO SOMETING BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!"

Dont worry about being downgraded. Since Disney is the one making the change, they will have to offer you comparable (another moderate) or better (a Deluxe) for the same price. They won't put you in an All Stars if you booked the CBR. You will at the lest get switched to another moderate, though there is a good chance they will offer you a Deluxe.

I am just trying to give all of you nervous Nellies some encouragement. I think you really need to sit tight and wait for your call. They have lots of deluxe rooms on that site that are sitting there empty. With the downturn in travel to Orlando I am sure you will be getting a good if not great rate at a nice hotel. Try to have faith in Tinkerbelle and her pixie dust. You won't be getting offered concierge at the GF but heck even a garden view room there is really nice. It is nice to be in a monorail resort. It sounds like the AKL will be filling up so you may need to get your hearts set in a different direction. Try and go with the flow I think it will make your vacation just that much better. Here's hoping you get alot more than you expect.

Princess Aurora, please try to calm down.

We were supposed to be at PO-FQ in June. We made the reservation in 7/01; heard from Disney in 3/02, and they took care of us. We could have gone to any of the other moderates for the same price OR upgrade to WL or AKL for $100 more in total for 4 nights. We went with the WL and were very pleased with the rate we wound up paying.

Relax! Disney is in the business of keeping their customers happy. I'm sure they'll do right by you.

Although I was disappointed to hear that CBR was closing, I understand why. I have time to play with and although I'd love to get a call right now from them, since I already started paying for the ressie, I doubt they will go and cancel it. "Good things go to those who wait."

Patience with vacation planning is not something I'm good at. I really want to wait for the phone call, but my dates aren't until early Nov so it's going to be awhile until I get one.
Also, I'm going during Super Soap Weekend and one year when I called a month or so beforehand, all the moderates were booked. From everything I've heard, they're not going to let me upgrade for free and I already feel like I'm wasting $$ on a beautiful resort that I'm not going to spend any time at. Don't get me wrong, the temptation is definitely there, but I really don't know if I'm interested in upgrading.
Would it be so bad to call and switch to POFQ now?

sramille, I know exactly what you're talking about. I have ressies for THANKSGIVING at CBR... Nov 27-Dec 1st... so I'm very worried about everything being booked up!!

I can not change my travel dates, that is not an option. Part of me says sit back and wait and see what they offer me, and part of me is saying I'll be sorrrrryyyy!

This thread is calming me down quite a bit... right now, I think I'll wait. Who know when I read the next thread!!

Thanks everyone, at least I know I'm not alone.... and I loved being the one who told my travel agent what was going on... they had NO idea, and when he called down to Disney, that CM didn't have a clue either until they actually READ the information.

Funny how lists work huh??
