hi all
i know i am being a pain tonight  but i am having porblems deciding where to stay :sad2: i am going backwards and forwards trying to decide,i like the look of them both but i keep reading not so good reports with the bus service in both resorts  about waiting times and bus sharing :confused3 please can anyone help and give me your opinions good and bad i am going to book tomorrow hopefully if i can eventually make up my mind

this is probably a case of beauty being in the eye of the beholder...
there are people who adore the CBR and others who adore POR....
i'm in the latter group...
we used to stay at the POR a lot and loved it there...
whereas, i'm not in love with the CBR...however, i'm sure i would enjoy staying there....i just prefer the POR.......

so it's really hard to say...

when we stayed at the POR we always requested the building in Alligator Bayou that's right next to the main building (i think it's building 14).....so we were close to the food court and the bus stop....

as i recall, there were some bus routes that were worse than others - mainly getting to DTD by bus was very time consuming.....
but other than that, we were fine with the buses...

hi beth :wave2:
thank you for your reply,it's so hard to decide  i have to book today so i better get my thinking cap on :)

We loved our stay at CBR in 2000. Had no problem with the buses and the pool and food court were great :)

i think that you'll be happy with whatever your choice..

perhaps you could make a decision based on theme?...

CBR does a good job at the Caribbean theme....It's really quite nice (steel drum music playing in the background)....and the food court seems quite nice)...

POR is a much more american feel to it....sort of country america...deep south....

I like the country feel of POR, while others much prefer that caribbean resort feel of CBR...

try to pick according to that.....(it's usually the theme that makes my choice for me....it's why i prefer the GF over the Poly,....i prefer the GF theme to the polynesian theme....also why i prefer the WL to the AKL - just the theming....)

so what do you think you'd like better?
caribbean resort feel?
or downhome country (if you know what i mean by that)..

Can't really advise on which one to go for as I've not stayed at CBR. I have stayed a few times at POR and loved it :)

We've stayed in both and preferred POR. That's not to say we didn't like CBR, just that POR was a better fit for us :)

We prefer the POR food court, resort layout, shop, bar, main pool, quiet pools ... The rooms are pretty much identical apart from decor, and we didn't have any transport issues with either resort.

Have fun deciding!

Eve, as you probably remember I really liked CBR :)

I just wanted to say something about the transport issue. At each resort I have ever stayed at at WDW (think we have stayed at 7 now on different occasions) I have always read bad reports of the transportation before I got there.

I'm pleased to say though that all were fine at all resorts :)

in my experience, we've had a few bad times with WDW bus transporation, but overall it's been fine...
i have a feeling that some of these bad reports are made by people whose expectations must have been too high (or are just the complaining type)...
if you don't expect to have a bus within one minute of when you get to the bus stop you'll be ok......we've rarely had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus.....but it does happen...you have to take that into consideration when you're planning how much time you'll need to get somewhere...

hi :wave2:
thank you all for trying to help me :) i don't know if any of you have noticed my countdown today  :cheer2:  :cheer2:

miffy, i agree with you on the transport issues we heard bad reports about the all stars transportation and we actually found it ok :)

That is brilliant news- we went to CBR at February Half-Term. It was very quite. We were given a free upgrade to water view, and we stayed in Trinidad South. The bus service was brilliant- we only once stood up, and never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus!!

Well done Eve, I am sure you will be pleased with your choice :) :thumbsup2

thanks guys :)
i have requested to be near the main building (youngest son has minor heath issues)because of my youngest son and told thom cook that i can provide a doctors letter and they have made some notes on the view data so i will have to wait and see fingers crossed :)

We haven't stayed at POR but have stayed at CBR lots of times and love it. It's nice and relaxing away from the parks and the and the CM's are really friendly and lots of them are the same cm's that were there when we first went. I'm sure your'll enjoy it, good luck. Maria

hi :wave2:
all i know is it is near to epcot :) that hasn't helped you much though has it

Ha ha, no worries, it's confirmed my suspicions! Just wondering if you could walk to Epcot as I'm sure I read that it was round the back of the World Showcase somewhere?

it would be good if you can walk to epcot :) maybe someone else will come along with a little bit more info than me :)
