THIS WILL BE MY FAMILY'S FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD. WE WERE WONDERING WHAT SOME OTHER PEOPLE OPINIONS ABOUT STAYING AT
THE CBR OR THE CSR? THERE IS FOUR OF US, ME(28), WIFE(27), SON(10), AND DAUGHTER(5) AND WE WILL BE THEIR IN MAY. ANY AND ALL INFO WILL HELP THANKS. :goodvibes

For our family, it would be CSR, hands down. We liked the theming much better, the pool area was great, and the resort at night is incredible.

Hello and welcome to the DIS.

The 2 resorts you have chosen are very similar. CBR has a caribbean theme and CSR has a Mexican/southwestern theme.

My family loves CSR. CSR has the best pool of all the moderates, some deluxe amentites like a spa and gym. The transportation is excellent.

Check out my CSR website below for pics, links and more detailed info.

What he said. :smooth:

Your ten year old will definitely find the pool slide at CBR a little babyish. The CSR slide is great for the whole family. We prefer CSR for so many reasons-three different themed areas, nice food court, beautiful grounds. The pool bar has food items, so no need to leave the pool at all to eat. Only four bus stops (CBR has seven).

We stayed at CSR last October and thought it was fabulous. I did decide if we ever stayed there again that I would request the Casita section and I would probably ask for building 1. We were in the Ranchos section (7b, I think) and after walking all day our room just seemed so far away from everything. It took me days just to figure out where our room was located within the building. But--The transportation was great and the pool is amazing. The Pepper Market is really nice because there is something for everyone and if you get your food to go you don't have to pay that 10% tip charge :smooth: I have no regrets about staying there :)

I know some people have doubts about it since it is a "convention resort", but it really isn't a negative. There was a convention going on when we were there and we still had a wonderful time. And actually the business center was a plus for us because we could get our boarding passes online saving us time at the airport.

For our next visit we'll stay at Port Orlens Riverside because of the trundle beds and just to try something different.

Having never stayed at CBR I can't comment on it, but we did stay at CSR last year and thought it was fantastic! The pool area alone is worth a stay there! Welcome to the Dis and have a great trip! :sunny:

I loved CSR. We stayed there last November and the kids loved the pool and slide. Loved the walk around the lake in the morning. Although the resort is very large, no matter where you are there is a bus stop nearby and the transportation is good. I stayed at the CBR about 10 years ago and it was not memorable, not bad, just not anything special imo.

CSR, not even a question about it in my mind, no comparison. Your kids will LOVE the pool, slide, playground......but has great quiet pools as well. You will love what we call the SW Tropical feel to the resort. Our trips have been so relaxing and peaceful, the lake is beautiful at night with all the lights, the food court is upscale, large hot tub, lots of seating at the pool, beautiful landscaping and all the extra amenities. Lovely to walk around and see the different styles of buildings and landscaping. We will go back there in a heartbeat ! :sunny: See my star ratings below.....

Another vote for CSR. It is a beautiful resort, great pool and grounds and room service should you need. CBR is also nice but there is a special feel about CSR. Enjoy.

CSR is beautiful and the pool is amazing. The pepper market has the best food and tons of dining options as well. It is a bit pricey but worth it. I loved the colors, theming, and layout of CBR as well but CSR is just cooler. The grounds are so wonderful. We rented bikes here and just rode aroung looking at all the beautiful landscaping.

My DS loves the pool area. Tough to get him out at times. The slide is great for all ages.
