Doing a 4-day mommy/daughter trip at the end of July. Cannot decide between these 2 mods. Have already stayed at PO...and love them both, but looking for something different. I understand that if I decide on CBR, I will be paying the little extra to stay in preferred loc. Wondered if anyone had any strong arguements for or against these 2. Thanks for your help, for your opinions will be how I form my decision. :sunny:

I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. We love CBR. CSR does have a better pool and hot tub but we like that the food court is right next to the pool at CBR.

Also I didn't like the mandatory tip in the Pepper Market at CSR.

Both are great. It will come down to your personal perference.

We just got back from CSR. This was our 8th trip to CSR and we still love it just as much as our first time back in 1998.

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with 3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to the ranchos
High speed internet service
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades

THE CONS
Full size beds
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.
Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests in suits. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty.

Never stayed at CS, so cant speak to that, but I dont think you can go wrong with CBR. We stayed there two years ago, (thanks to a lot of info we received on these boards) and it was beautiful.

We asked for a corner room, no other request. We did not have a water view, but the grounds are beautiful, so no big deal. The room was a decent size, the bathroom has two sinks, and I love the curtain you can close for privacy in getting dressed etc.

The food court is great, as it is right by the pool. We did have about a 5 min. walk to the main pool, but it was really a nice walk, over a bridge down a pretty path, so no one minded. Also there are "quiet" pools all around the resort, that are close if that walk bothers you.

What ever you choose I am sure you will enjoy. :cheer2:

We are going in July and we were going back and forth trying to decide if we should stay at another moderate but I really love the CBR, so I am pretty sure that is where we will stay.

I've stayed in both and, while I like CBR fine, I have been back to CSR three times and am going back again in August. I love the Pepper Market and don't mind the 'mandatory tip.' Thinking about the conventions, I guess I wouldn't want to stay in the Casitas because they've always seemed a little louder to me as conventioneers sometimes seem to have get-togethers in their rooms, and they seems to generally stay in the Casitas (not that I blame them, I probably would to if I ever got to go to conferences...) so we've always been in the Cabanas or Ranchos. The spa is quite big, so when lots of little kids get in, as they frequently do, you don't get crowded out or get your book wet. There's also a big playground, which DS liked when he was younger, and the slide at the pool is neat. ALSO, if you go to the pool at night the lighting is pretty cool. Plus, there's a fairly big loop if you like to run, which is nice. Bus service isn't bad either, though I usually rent a car. I also like that it's not so 'super-Disney' as, say, AsMo, so you can get a mini-break from the Mouse, should you care to.

Reading this over, I guess there's no reason NOT to stay at CBR, I just like CSR better!

Have a great trip with DD! I'm taking my DS on a surprise trip in August and I can't wait!

Having stayed at both CBR and CSR, I would have to say we prefer CSR. There isn't anything not to like about CBR, we just found more to like at CSR, if that makes any sense! Both are big and require a lot of walking, but you're at Disney, you are going to do alot of walking!! We LOVE the Pepper Market at CSR. We went for a long weekend in March and couldn't get into the CSR (it was a last minute trip) and stayed at CBR. For dinner we would go to CSR to eat. We also prefer the grounds at CSR. I think it all becomes just a personal preference. You can't go wrong with either one. :earboy2:
