 We booked CBR for 8/11-8/17.... Now we are having serious doubts. Lately, I have read some pretty dismal reviews on CBR. Let me first tell you my situation. We are going with our dd (4) and ds (1.10) and my in-laws. My in-laws are severe asthmatics. So they have been "promised" a non-smoking room. We are just concerned about how spread out the resort is in regards to the food court and bus stops. Between my two strollers and in-laws, we're confused what to do now. We tried requesting preferred location but there was none available. We are totally confused. I may call Disney just to see if any other moderate has openings. When we booked our other choice was POFQ. Maybe I should've gone with that.

Hi,

All of the other moderates besides POFQ are just as spread out as CBR if not more. If you are truely concerned about the distance to the main area I would suggest you look into switching to POFQ.

I have stayed at both and CBR is spread out and confussing :confused3 . If you can't get a preferred room and you want to be close to the food court and bus-you might want to switch. POFQ is very condensed and everything is close by. There is only 1 bus stop verses 5 at CBR. When I stayed at CBR this past April it was just DH and I. Our room was a good walk from the food court. We stayed at POFQ last Oct. and loved it. My inlaws went with us. FIL uses a walker for long distance and was able to walk to the bus and food court with out it. I know he couldn't if we had stayed at CBR.
Good luck :wave2:

If it is too late to switch to POFQ, request a room in Jamaica 45 or 44 or Aruba 52. Those buildings all have an easy walk to the pool and food court.

You will LOVE LOVE LOVE CBR. I know we did. We just got back from an 18 day trip there. Ask to be in Jamaica. We stayed in Bldg 44. Actually room 4411. The pool is right to the right of your room and the beach is directly in from with a tot lot. There is a foot bridge for you to walk over to Old Port Royale. It was great. The walk is maybe 5 mins and thats if you stop to feed all the ducks and turtles under the bridge. I would not change over. I just loved it there and will not stay anywhere else and we have been going for 11 years to Disney and have tried many of their resorts. I'm hooked on CBR now.

Thanks for the responses. Called Disney & POFQ isn't available anyway. So we will hope for the best. No matter what we're still at Disney so it can't be that bad. Still counting the days. Lora J, that is the first time I've seen someone from J.C. on here. I was born & raised there, still teach there too. :jumping1: Thanks again.

r5moores..........do you have pictures of the view from your room. I'm concidering CBR and I want a good view.

I think CBR is a great choice. Only one building is for smokers so you have a very good chance of getting a non smoking room.

Jamaica is a great choice if you don't want to pay for a preferred location.

yes, it is spread out but a very nice walk. I think you will be very happy, but if you have doubt change hotels. Have a great trip no matter where you stay.

J Lynn....yes I have many many pictures of the views from our room and the views close by as well as the footbridge and the view of the pool and beach near our room. I would be glad to send to you if you'd like to pm me your email address.

CBR is a great choice-no need to switch! Its very easy to navigate as its just a big circle of buildings surrounding the main lake. Very scenic and very relaxing! :sunny:
Just ask when you checkin to be on the ground floor-that helps with strollers. We stayed in Jamaica and it was very close to the pool, and bus stop and just a shortb walk to food court.
Have a great trip!

I've read a lot about CBR being too big and I think it is over hyped. We stayed in Trinidad South (building 35) and were as about as far from Centertown (the foodcourt and main pool) as you could be. Our walk to breakfast every morning was less than 10 minutes and was no big deal. In fact our building had a "quiet pool" and a busstop within a few hundred feet. While big, we were quite happy with CBR (plus you can see a lot of the Epcot fireworks at night).

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

Woot! Chilltown JC!!!
I moved here a little over a year ago and really love my neighborhood.

My boyfriend and I really liked CBR. :) We didn't mind the walk from Building 42. We were also very close to the bus stop. The resort is very relaxing and beautiful.
