Going on our Honeymoon on Sunday and staying at the CBR. What room should we request?

We will have a car.

Thanks.

Dean

DH and I stayed at CBR for our honeymoon. We were in Jamaica buildings...with garden view. It was wonderful! We got to look out at this pretty courtyard. Sorry I can't remember which room...but I do remember that we could leave are room and almost be right on top of the bridge over to Old Port Royale.

Room locations have been discussed many times on the CBR FAQ's. I suggest you read that thread.

What do you want to be close to or doesn't it matter? Then maybe we can make suggestions.

safeymom - We would love to have a nice view and a quiet area if that is possible at Disney.

I heard that you could view the Epcot Fireworks from the CBR. Is that true.

Thanks

Dean

deanvm, I don't think there are any noisy areas at CBR. For real quiet Trinidad South would be a good location but it is a longer walk to the food court area.

Yes you can see the fireworks from the beach at CBR. We always watch them from the beach at Martinique.

We stayed there on our honeymoon also and stayed in a king room in the Jamaica section. We really liked Jamaica. It was a really nice walk over Parrot Cay to Old Port Royale. Nice and quiet but convenient and pretty. I would definitely choose this section again. Have a wonderful honeymoon!

Jamaica 44, top floor was great for us! We faced a courtyard. I would not want to be facing a quiet pool nor playground. You may want to mention that you want a quiet room with the nicest view possible as it is your honeymoon.:D And if you don't like your location, don't hesitate to call and ask for a different room.

We just loved the CBR in June '02.

I would really recommend the small amount it would cost to upgrade to a water view room. Our room's 2nd floor view of the lake was just breathtaking!

Jamaica is the way to go for many reasons, #1 being that you're the first bus stop going to a park so you are guaranteed a seat.

And coming back, Jamaica is again the first stop so you are the first one off the bus again. So if you're standing on a crowded bus coming back from a park at night, you stand less!

If you're drooling for some pics, we have some vacation photos from our trip, including some of the CBR at:

I disagree about springing for a water view room. I have had many water view rooms when I was upgraded. Most of them did not provide much of a water view.

Since CBR has outside hallways you really don't get to enjoy the water view from your room.

Spend the money on a fancy dinner or enjoy WDW instead of paying extra for a water view room.

I agree about NOT paying for a waterview room. Since there are no balconies to enjoy, the view from your room is really obstructed by the walkways. I found on our honeymoon that we never even opened our curtains anyway. We were too busy going to parks and elsewhere and, well, you know.

Definitely spend the money on a nicer restaurant. We went to Victoria & Albert's which was an absolutely wonderful way to end our honeymoon.

Let me back up my comments on the water view room:

At both the CBR and the CSR, I looked around quite a bit at the location of the various rooms.

If I hadn't paid the slight increase for a water view room, I would have risked looking out onto a parking lot. Walking around the upper level (2nd floor) walkways to go to the ice machine, I paused to look at the view from other rooms. Yuck! I think it is well worth it to guarantee not looking at the parking lot. And when swimming in the quiet pool (now that's a misnomer! They were never quiet!) I looked up at the rooms that viewed right over the pool and, again, I was sure glad I paid that little bit extra for the water view.

I know some people never open their curtains and are barely in their rooms. Great for them if that's what they like. I'm a guy and we know it takes guys about 5 minutes in the morning to get ready to go out the door! So I was always ready with 20 minutes or so to kill while waiting for my DW and DD5/6.

I just love the peacefulness of drinking my morning beverage while standing outside on the balcony walkway. The view of the lake (at both the CBR which included the gorgeous white sand beach and at the CSR) reflecting the low morning sun so wonderfully!

I loved the smell of the humid and hot Florida air (I'm from Illinois, this is a major treat!).

I loved watching other families walking excitedly from their rooms to whatever magical part of Disney World they were going to enjoy.

I liked saying, "Good morning" or simply nodding a morning hello to the other guests. Everyone is so friendly!

To me...the water view was worth every penny! After totaling the cost of the entire trip, the upgrade is less than 1% of the cost. Money well spent, IMHO.

One of my last trips to CBR was in a room that had a view of the parking lot. It is landscaped so heavily that you couldn't tell that there was a parking lot.

I wouldn't have a problem staying in one of those rooms again. We also didn't have any problem with noise.

The only time I had a problem with noise is when I was overlooking a quiet pool at CSR. It was very noisy even at midnight. Never had that problem anywhere at CBR.

We are always waiting for my son to get ready so have plenty of time to hang out on the balcony.
