CBR Bus Service

Redarrow - are you off your meds? Camomama is right on and you just keep coming back with turse remarks. Camomama, thank you for trying but you are talking to someone who is never going to listen and always think they are right.

Camo - I have followed your story and trip report and know that you are a single military mom and have a child with issues and are only trying to help here and do not deserve someone like Redarrow coming down on you.

Redarrow is one of those people who always shows up one minute late for the bus and it is the resorts fault. Get real!

the first bus of the morning is usually the one that is running for the pre-opening breakfasts in the park or EMH. I think this is around 7 am. But since this can vary from day to day (again, SO sorry Redarrow) it's best to just ask at the concierge desk the night before.

thank you so much for your helpfulness. :hippie: this is good to know as we have very early reservations for breakfast on our upcoming trip.

My pleasure. Sorry I couldn't give you an exact time, but asking the concierge or front desk the night before will probably give you a better time. If you're anything like me (hate getting out of bed in the morning), you could also do as we do for early breakfasts: take a cab. Much quicker, so you can squeak in a few more minutes of shut eye before hitting the park. Also the best way to get to an early resort breakfast like Ohanas or Cape May.

Would you actually take a cab for an early breakfast IN Magic Kingdom?? We will have a car with us, but I was planning on taking the bus on our Magic Kingdom days just to avoid the TTC...do you think it would be simpler to use the car everyday? This will be our fourth trip, and we managed to make it to Main Street ONCE before rope drop because my daughter had a BBB appointment....this year our first morning I would love to be there for 8AM, and am working backwards as to what time I should try to catch the bus - but maybe at that time we should just drive?:confused3 What should I do? WHAT SHOULD I DO??? :) (don't mind me....I'm a little  )

:lmao: I remember the feeling well- No judgement here! I must admit that barring early morning breakfasts, we are big fans of the bus, and think it really makes sense for MK. But for a CP or CRT breakfast (it's been a LONG time since we've had kids young enough to necessitate this) we would totally take a taxi to the CR and then walk over to the MK gates. We never drive our car to any of the parks. DH really hates driving on vacation and doesn't like the road traffic at park openings and closings. Especially MK.

So my advice stands (long story short- too late): bus or taxi.

Ahh...that makes total sense - going to CR...I was imagining the taxi dropping off at the TTC - didn't really make sense. So I think I'll stick with my original plan - bus to MK, drive to the others. I want to be there for 8AM on our first day, and we have 8:15AM ADR at CRT on our last day. Wish me luck!

I should add that once we're out of carseats and boosters, taxi is a great option!

Thanks everyone, no worries.

At the risk of hijacking the thread...

We had an 8:30am ADR for Crystal Palace on our first park day in February. MK opened at 9am, I want to say we got on the bus at 7:30, but it may have been a bit earlier. We waited outside of the turnstiles for a while with other folks who had ADRs, then we went through the turnstiles and waited in front of the shop on the left of the entrance, then were walked into the park by a CM. We arrived at Crystal Palace before 8, checked in right away and were part of the first group seated at 8:05, even though we were 25 minutes early for our ADR. I wouldn't have had us out there quite so early if I'd known, but it was our first visit to WDW and I had no idea how long it would take for the bus to get us to MK, and it worked out. We finished breakfast right at 9am after taking our sweet time, taking pictures with all of the characters and watching the little parade of kids. We made it to the rest of the park just at the front of the rope drop crowds. It was great.

Long story short, the buses start at 7:30 at the latest with a 9am park opening; there might be an earlier bus, but I wasn't out that early again for the rest of our vacation.

We stayed at cbr last sept and the bus system is a big reason why we decided to stay this sept. We likes that there was several bus stops. It prevented the stoa from being over crowded. We never waited long at all for a bus. But, if you give yourself enough time and aren't in a rush it's no big deal if you have to wait. Have fun!

I have stayed at CBR many times with my most recent being two weeks ago. I have used the buses on several trips and they have been wonderful. But on this last trip they were the worst I have experienced. There were several long waits and the buses were very crowded - standing in double rows down the center. For the first time ever I heard a lot of people complaining about how bad the buses were. One afternoon we were the first people in line at the MK pick up area. It was around 1:30 in the afternoon. We waited 40 minutes for a bus and by the time one arrived, the que was full and everyone did not get on that bus. Lots of frustrated people that day! I am a very patient person so I tend to roll with the flow and try not to let that sort of thing bother me. One night we had a reservation at 'Ohana and we left one hour before and we ended up being 15 minutes late. I was getting a little frustrated that night because three buses came for Ecpot before one came for MK!

This is my favorite bus story of the whole week. That day I mentioned above when we were waiting at the MK, a husband and wife and little boy in a stroller were in line right behind me. After about 30 minutes of waiting, I could hear the husband quietly telling his wife "never again - never again." Then he said that the whole week he had never been able to sit in a seat because of the crowded buses. Well, since we were in the front of the line, we all got a seat. As the bus started filling up and people were standing, an elderly woman got on the bus and that husband who had been complaining about not being able to sit all week, instantly got up (holding on to his son's folded up stroller) and gave his seat to that woman. Honestly, that was one of my best moments on my trip and I don't think I will forget it. What a gentleman.
