CBR Bridge

How long is the CBR bridge going to be closed for? We are going in May 2016 and are choosing where to stay.

I called after recieving an email and was transferred to guest services, who put me on hold and called the resort. They said late November it would be done. But I have heard December from others on here too. So could be either one, but by May it will be open

Its been a while since I have been on the resorts boards and just saw this thread. What bridge is closed? The main one that connects the villages across the way to OPR? We are staying Nov 29-Dec 4th and have requested Jamaica as we have stayed in that village a few times. The bridge out would be an issue and we'd ask for another village. Thanks

Yes, the bridge is out to OPR. It may be done by your trip, but I have heard December. They are running private shuttles from Jamaica and Aruba to OPR. It was very bad for us. We requested Jamaica and got Jamaica, but we had no idea about the bridge being out, we were told after we checked in. We tried walking it, but we had to go up and around and back down and it was just too long. We had a couple bad experiences with the private shuttle taking too long and just being too cumbersome. Last thing we wanted was to ride more shuttles than we have to, especially to go to the pool, or just to refill our mugs. We asked to switch resorts out of frustration, but they found us a room in Martinique instead. It was a great location. Martinique 23.

Thanks for the answer. Sorry you had a bad experience, glad they made good on it for you though. I am so glad I saw this thread. We are going to call then and ask them when it will be done and then probably request another area instead.

It was so much better when we moved to Martinique, very short walk to OPR and very quick walk to bus stop. It was great, and the resort was great about moving us. They wanted us to be happy. I just felt they should have notified us months before to let us know about the bridge. That way we could alter our room location request, or switch resorts. Since we go to OPR a lot for breakfast, mug refills, main pool, to get towels for quiet pool etc. We really wanted to be near OPR. It may not be a big deal for some people if they don't go to OPR that much though.
