Relatively new to these boards. I LOVE THEM!!! What a great community. You're all so helpful. Just finalizing our hotel. Next wk it's 90days and PS ressies to be made!!! :cool1: :cool1: I'm so excited!!!!!! A few questions on CBR if you don't mind....
  • where can you see Illuminations from CBR?
  • Can you see Wishes? If so, from which bldgs/beaches?
  • 7 bus stops? Where is stop #1-#7? I think I read somewhere there are sometimes 2 bus routes that split the resort. What happens then?
  • Aruba Bldgs 51-53. Anything to avoid? Something good to request??
  • Considering req. Pref Bldgs of Martinique or std in Aruba. We have 2 young children so want to be close to things....but not on top of the main theme pool (don't want too much noise if we come back for afternoon naps). Suggestions??
  • Have read the CBR FAQ and am psyched on the hotel.. Anything else you'd like to add I'm all ears!!!!

Thanks so much for your help!!!

You can Illuminations from outside the food court on the lake side. I don't think you could see Wishes. I've stayed there 3 times and liked it. One time in Martinque and twice in Barbados.

You will love CBR. There are 2 FAQ's on CBR. You won't hear much noise no matter where you stay. Not even near the main pool.

The best place to see the Epcot fireworks is the beach at Martinique.

I have a resort map up on my website listed below with the bus stops, etc.

You might want to post any future questions in the CBR FAQ II thread. You will get lots of great information.

We stayed in Jamaica last year. Jamaica was the last pick
up, but the first :cool1: dropoff after a long day at a park. (This may have changed....I don't know.)

Never waited long.

My kids liked walking over the arched bridge and through the island to get to the food court.

We actually liked a parking lot view b/c our car was right there! Plus, we could see when the buses started running in the mornings.

Thank you. Was hoping I might hear from more people who have stayed at CBR...anyone in Aruba?? We honeymooned in the real Aruba, and I thought it might be nice to stay in Disney's Aruba.

I have stayed in Aruba at CBR. We had a courtyard room and really enjoyed it. It's a short walk across the lake to OPR.

We recently stayed in Jamaica 45, right next to Aruba, and directly across from the end of the walkway to Old Port Royale. I could see both Wishes and Illuminations from the walkway in front of our room - I think you could see them from any building that faced in that direction. Each village has it's own bus stop, so you never have far to walk. There are buses to the parks, and also an internal bus to take you around the resort, if you don't want to walk. We had heard that Jamaica was the first drop-off and/or the first pick-up, but that wasn't true for our stay in December. But it didn't make much difference, since this was a low attendance time and there were always plenty of seats. We never waited more than about ten minutes for a bus, usually less. We found our location to be very quiet - we hardly ever heard anyone else. I think that's actually an advantage in having exterior walkways rather than interior corridors. The interior corridors just seem to echo and amplify every sound and conversation.

We've only stayed at Trinidad North - that's now considered a preferred location - and it was great! We were just a quick walk away from the main pool and food court and it was so quiet. In fact, DH thinks that because of the exterior corridors CBR is quieter and more private than some of the deluxe resorts we've stayed in. We were there in July and there were many times that we were the only people in the quiet pool.

We are considering making my parents anniversary trip into a huge extended family gathering and if we do that we will definitely be trying to get rooms at CBR.

Safety Mom....which Aruba bldg were you in? Also, what is between Aruba and the Custom house? Are these gardens? trees? So surprising to see open space on a resort map. Thanks agsin.
