I have heard that you can actually purchase BCV through Disney although it isn't something that they advertise. I this true? I would love to buy into DVC but love Beach Club and would prefer to make this my home resort. I know that you can purchase BCV through resale but can you in fact, purchase BCV from Disney? I have no interest in AKV or SS and from what I have read...it is highly recommended that you purchase where you want to stay because it is becoming increasingly difficult to get what you want at the 7 month window. I would therefore, only want to purchase at BCV. Of course, I am still trying to convince my husband to buy DVC.....but that's a whole different thread......

Hi: Yes, you can buy BCV or any of the other "sold out" resorts thru Disney directly if they have the points available. You will have to purchase the minimum amount. Resale prices are a bit lower, but you will have to factor in closing costs as well.

Yes, Disney will sell points at DVC resorts that are "sold out". You may have to wait until they aquire the UY and number of points you want and there are no incentives offered for sold out resorts. You will pay full price per point.:)

Sure can! I was speaking to my guide last night and we were talking about re-sales purchased from Disney. She told me that she had just sold BCV to a gentleman as that was the ONLY place he would stay! The price is more than likely going to be higher through Disney than it would through someone else, but yes it can be done!
Good luck to you on convincing your husband!:wizard:

What is full price for BC?

There are no incentives if you purchase a "sold out" resort.

Did your guide tell you that you needed to be wait-listed for those points?

Time to call guide again and find out what is going on.

:)

If you are a new member you will have to purchase 160 pts and it would be $106 per point - if they have them available. Sometimes they do and sometimes you have to go on a waitlist. Resale for a larger contract at BCV will still be a better deal - I've seen 150+ contracts going for low to mid 80's.

We just purchased BCV on the resale side 150 pts for $84 a point. Why would you want to buy from Disney if you want BCV for $106 a pt with a minimun of 160 pts?

In regards to the above post. Resale pricing for BCV are actually alot lower than Disney pricing right now. Also, if you are a first time buyer through Disney you do have to factor in closing costs -I've actually never bought resale but did alot a research before buying AKV last month through Disney.

I have purchased resale twice and have never had any problems. This includes the resale company and Disney after the sale is complete. Even after factoring in the closing costs I'm sure resale is still cheaper. Good luck with whatever you decide.

The last I heard Disney still does not charge closing costs on the sold out resorts even for new buyers. Of course no discounts on the sold out ones either so the no closing costs is the only monetary benefit. A good resale contract will still be the better deal on the older resorts for large contracts.

We bought a BCV resale last year, after we were told by our DVC guide that there was a year-long waiting list for a contract the size we wanted (200 - 215 pts) at BCV.

My understanding is that when DVC exercises their ROFR, they often break larger contract into several smaller ones to fill current owners' requests for add-ons. Only after those are filled do non-owners have a crack at buying a contract.

With the reseller, we had a matching contract and made an offer within just a few days of contacting them. All the gory details are in our blog (see the link below) We did pay closing costs, but they were minimal compared to the difference in price.

Exactly. With so many good contracts available, and some with banked points, resale is the only way to go for a sold out resort.

OP, have you checked the listings at the Timeshare Store? If you get on their email list, they'll send you all the new listings as they get them.
