While we awaited for our room to be readied....we stopped there for a sandwich. It is an sandwich/burger/shake place. Later that night after our dinner we noticed we were shy table credit meals. We went to concierge at BCV and they checked and sure enough my turkey sandwich was a table service credit! We were told that they are supposed to warn guests checking in well..the rest is history. Unfortunately ours was the Paid dining plan and we canceled our last night's dinner... Our fault for not confirming! Don't make the same mistake!

I thought they were always a table service? They've been listed as such in the info...

Don't they have wait staff there? I've never been there but I thought it was a sit down and order kind-of-place.

I'm sorry you lost a credit for something you probably would have rather just paid cash for =( That stinks!

Maybe if you talk to someone in management they'll let you pay OOP for the sandwich & reinstate your credit? :confused3

Concierge didn't offer so I chalked it up to experience. More surprises at BCV's were to come!
I just want others not to be fooled. I knew places like the Plaza in MK were table service but I read Beaches Marketplace and thought it was the same. Live and learn. What a waste though. I wouldn't think such a place at a resort would be TS. I guess no matter what they serve if wait service is used it's TS.
After dining in Marrakesh, Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Spoodles etc it seems ridiculous to consider Beaches a TS but it is what it is. I wouldn't have minded if it had been the free dining!

Thanks for the alert, I am sure it is a common mistake. It has always been a TS on this plan, but in the 'old' days of the discount vouchers it was a 'casual dining' place.

I think the restaurants can get overwhelming, and i agree that it's ridiculous to compare TS LeCellier to TS Beaches and Cream. Seems like they are in different leagues all together, doesn't it?

I would talk to Concierge and see if they can reinstate your credit if you agree to pay cash for your sandwich. They might just be willing to do it!

I agree that Le Cellier is not in the same league as Beaches and Cream. That is so nice of you to warn others. I thought Beaches and Cream was TS if you eat at the restaurant and it was CS if you order food and leave.

OK. I'm confused. I understand that it is on the Dining Plan and can be used as a Table Service Credit - but isn't it optional to use it as a credit? Not everyone is on the Dining Plan. I plan to eat there in a couple of weeks and I am on the Dining Plan - but I'm paying OOP for that meal. I plan to bring cash and tell the server up front that the meal will be paid for in cash. I am confused as to why the OP lost the TS credit. Did the OP attempt to charge the meal on the room card and they took a TS credit without telling the OP instead of charging the room?

Not sure why anyone would think that a server coming to your table, taking your drink and food order, bringing said items to your table, would qualify as a CS meal? Regardless of the price of the food, Beaches and Cream IS a table service location. If you find you cannot get enough bang for your buck at this location, perhaps you should look elsewhere.

I think the OP thought B&C was a counter service credit and expected a CS to be deducted. It wasn't until they got their printout did they realize that a TS had been deducted instead. So, since they were now short a TS they didn't plan for, they had to cancel a later TS meal. Since she was confused about B&C being CS or TS, she wanted to post and make sure others knew.

You are fine to pay cash for anything - no explanation needed. You don't even need to tell your server anything until the bill is brought and you plunk down the cash.

Thank you! Actually with check in, meeting up with the family and the ensuing room problems we didn't realize we had lost a TS creidt till after dinner. I checked our bill and it was short. The waitress had no knowledge of why that was of course, so I went to conceirge at the BCV's, where I was staying. She did a print out and saw we had eaten at Beaches and it was a TS. She said normally the CM"s at check in warn people of the fact Beaches is TS since it is a hamburger joint (in plain English). Of course nothing about BCV was normal so we weren't informed. I just want to warn the rest of you so you don't lose out. There was no way two CS meals would come to the paid $39 per day per person we had paid, which we had to do the last day.

We checked into the BCV on Aug 18 and they were very specific in telling us that B&C was a TS and not a CS. She told us that a lot of people don't consider it a TS because of what is served there, but if you have a waitress or waiter serving you it is a TS no matter what is served. The person checking us in was earning her ears and had someone training her right there, so she was trying to be very specific. Apparently this is a common misconception.

You can pay OOP for this meal and not use your DDP, that is your choice. The easiest thing is when they ask if you will be using the DDP, simply say no. No reason to confuse them and give too much info, such as Yes I am on the Plan, but No I don't want to use it now.

As to the OP, she was not aware it was a TS credit on the DDP. She used her DDP thinking it would be CS meal. Her mistake and she has admitted it was and was simply warning others.

We ate there last year. We told the waitress that we were paying cash even though we were on the dining plan. We did not have a problem. Sorry to hear about your experience--I know I would of been mad if I had to use our TS.

I was given no info when I checked in on the 20th. I had to tell him I needed to pay for the dining plan...He, too, was earning his ears but seemed to be totally incompetent, I hate to say it since he was in training. He had no one supervisisng him though and that is managements fault.

Weren't you given the dining brochure? They really should have offered, and I would have asked, to reverse the DDP charge and let you pay for the meal out of pocket.

The restaurant has waiters that take your order, serve the food and clear the tables. I'm not sure why you thought it would be counter/quick service. The price of the meal doesn't automatically decide if the restaurant is signature, TS or CS.

Some restaurants, like Le Cellier, could be a two credit restaurant based on the price of the meals. Pepper Market at CSR could probably justify being a TS, or at least a 2 credit CS meal, if Disney wanted to invent such an option. You used the plan for one of the less expensive meals, but the cost of your meal was probably double the typical CS meal and probably about the same as if you used a TS credit for breakfast.

Your post may be helpful to a few people but I suspect most guests, even if they don't read the brochure, would assume a restaurant with table servcie would be classified as a TS meal. An appetizer, combo, drink, dessert, tax and tip is probably $20-$25.

Have you ever eaten there? If there were appetizers available I didn't see them but I wasn't looking. I had a turkey sandwich, a soda and a single scoop of ice cream. Maybe $12. One daughter, a vegetarian, ate a wrap and had coffee, nothing more. No it was no more of a value then any counter service I had and not as good as most. Tusker House gives you a salmon and rice/drink dessert meal...for CS. Columbia House a soup and sandwich/dessert/meal CS meal. Easy to think it was a CS meal.
