“Over at our place, we’re sure of just one thing: everybody in the world was once a child. So in planning a new picture, we don’t think of grown-ups, and we don’t think of children, but just of that fine, clean, unspoiled spot down deep in every one of us that maybe the world has made us forget and that maybe our pictures can help recall.”
- Walt Disney

Hey everyone!!! :wave2:

Ok, so this is my first crack at doing a Pre-Trip Report (I just recently found out that they exist). You can read my first ever Trip Report in my signature below where I took my very first solo trip to WDW back in 2011. I will be praying to the God 'o Forums that I don't bore those of you that venture to read this to tears, because I really haven't a clue how to do these, but the Libra in me tells me that I really need to detail out what I may want to do, maybe you can help me make some decisions, and willfully by the time I get to the end, I will have a plan.

So, ok...brief intro... this is me, "Lanasia".This is a picture of me during the Wild African Trek from my last Solo Excursion. I hope to add this to my itinerary again this time...

I currently live in Northern NJ, work as a Tech Manager in NYC, but actively pursuing employment in Florida to be closer to my aging Mother and the rest of my family that are there... I'm a woman "of age" and, since a tender single-digit-ed age, still love Disney as much as the days of my youth.

This trip is planned for April 28 - May 4th 2014. I will be staying at SSR and so looking forward to 7 days of Disney all to myself! *insert evil laugh here*

This is my babycakes... she is 8 years old. You will probably read me typing about her from time to time, but she has such a little comedic personality that sometimes its just way too good not to share...

Here's how things are shaping up so far:

Park Itinerary (Including Tours and Events)
ADR's
Other (What happens at Disney....lol)

Stay tuned...

Following along! Your solo trip report was entertaining so I can't wait to read this one as it progresses!

Oh my goodness, y'all know I'm a Libra so totally expect this to change at least 5-20 times before the 28th of April. LOL

4/28 - DHS arrival
6:00PM American Idol Experience audience. I wanted to check it out before I audition. No, I can't carry a tune in a Dooney & Burke Bag but I did want the "experience" of auditioning.

8:30PM FP+ Star Tours (Living on the wild side doing this ride right after dinner)

9:150PM FP+ Rock n Roller Coaster

10:00PM - Fantasmic! Would you believe I've NEVER EVER seen this not once??

4/29 -Magic Kingdom!!

6:00PM La Nouba! Haven't seen it yet but heard it was great. My daughter had no interest last we were here, so I will be seeing this Front and Center!

4/30 - Hollywood Studios

5/1 - Epcot
9:45AM Dolphins in Depth (tour): I was really excited about this until the CM that took my order told me I had to wear a "shortie" wetsuit... A big girl's worst enemy...smh

5/2 - Animal Kingdom

8:30AM Wild By Design (Tour): I'm really excited about this tour. I love all things Animal Kingdom and can't wait to learn how they keep everything running so smooth.

5/3 -

11:30AM - Senses Spa Appointment

5/4 - Back to NJ! :rolleyes2

Subbing! Hi, LaLa! :wave2:

I've never seen Fantasmic, either! We are both planning to right that wrong on our upcoming trips! :thumbsup2

So far my list of ADR's.... any suggestions???

Monday 4/28

DINNER - Sci-Fi Diner: Wouldn't really call it "dinner". I usually only go there for the onion rings.

Tuesday 4/29

LATE DINNER - Bongos Cuban Cafe

Wednesday 4/30

Thursday 5/1

Friday 5/2

DINNER - Victoria & Albert (Diva Dinner II)

Soooooooooo, I got the best PM today!!! The fellow DIS'er that I am renting points from had me on a waitlist so I could extend my stay for a day and it came through!! Woohoo!! So, now I will actually be departing on the 4th instead of the 3rd. This was better than ice cream. No lie. :goodvibes

So, I have made some plans, but been slacking on scheduling some ADRs and some time to meet up with others that I knew would be down at that time. One of my favorite reasons for enjoying going solo is not really feeling like I needed to be on a rigid schedule, so I wanted to have a good balance between just doing whatever and scheduling times for my tours and possible meet ups.

I wonder if any cute (single-ish) guys will be there?? :wave2: Heeey LOL

Well its getting down to the wire!! In just 2 weeks, and 12 hours (but, who's counting?) I will be clenching the sides of my airplane seat on my way to Disney!!!

I know I am a horrible PTR writer and I sooooooooo thank anyone that has wasted even a moment of their life to read any of this! LOL.... But I am making some headway... please keep these two things in mind about me:

I am a Libra, hence very undecided at everything... :confused3
...I am a career procrastinator. Soooo... just go with it. LOL

I just booked my Senses spa appointment for my "lazy Saturday"-themed day. I will be getting the Signature Hydroptherapy Treatment and Massage Experience package.... woohoo!! Sounds fancy, huh??

I have only had a massage one other time in my entire life and I am still not sure how I feel about a stranger touching my body for over an hour, but I am going to force myself to enjoy, relax, and use that time to reflect on the magnificent week I know I am going to have!

Should I start packing??

Enjoy the spa! I've enjoyed the Spa @ Grand Floridian on multiple occasions and once you start regularly getting massages, you will feel so much relaxed. You will find that you had knots in places you didn't realize you had and once they get worked out, it will be amazing.

Looks like you are going to have a very enjoyable trip! Enjoy your solo time!

:banana::dancer:party::cheer2::banana:

Can you tell Im excited??

I did absolutely NO planning this past weekend...I worked on Saturday to try and get ahead on all of the fun work that I am going to miss next week, and Sunday I had my woman's group meeting and also had to get in some clarinet practice, since I do not plan on bringing my clarinet on my trip. Was that a look of surprise on your face just now?? Yes, Didn't I tell you I play clarinet?? LOL.... yep I have been playing since I was about 10 years old... so that is 30+ years!! I have earned my Bachelor and Masters in Music Performance and do a lot of teaching, solo and chamber gigs, and once in a while I will sub or play with an orchestra. My DREAAAAAAAAAAAAM would be to play in a studio orchestra for a Disney film. So, yes after all that money spent on degrees and instruments, I end up working in field of Technology... yep, sounds about right!! LOL :surfweb:

I still have ADRs to secure and, against my better judgement, Ive also decided to build in some time to visit my Neice, new baby grandneice, brother, and a few of my cousins during this week. I have a rediculous amount of family and friends in Orlando and usually, when I do a WDW trip, I really don't even tell them Im there (yes, to hell in a handbasket I go), but my Mom (bless her heart) has made it her business to tell everyone, so now they are expecting to see me at least once.

One thing I will be doing is taking a drive over to my Dad's grave to see how they are keeping him over there. For anyone that followed my last TR back in 2011, he passed away a little over a month after I got back from that solo trip. He was a big reason why I love Disney so much. So I am trying to leave some wiggle room to do a little teeny tiny bit of visiting and non-Disney stuff.

So, here is my TO DO list for the rest of the week:

  • laundry
  • clean house
  • grocery shopping for Mom and daughter
  • shop for groceries to be delivered to resort
  • pack (yeah...suitcase is still empty)
  • Review next week's work tasks with Assistant
  • put all confirmations, print copy of itinerary, La Nouba Tix, magic bands, in zip lock bag and in suitcase
  • Clean and organize my room
  • Cute Girl Shopping
  • Complete ADR list

I need prayers... lol

Well, this was a sorry excuse for a PTR if I ever saw one.... Imhere now... just check in and about to head over to HS. I dont know how to make this into a TR, but if I can't I will start a new one. I promise that will be so much better. lol

Hehe, don't be silly LaLa,you did great! It's just so easy to let time slip away when you are writing these things!!!!

Also, whoa!!!! You are so beautiful! And your daughter is as well. I hope you are settled, and have had a great time this evening!

I posted this on my PTR, but figured I'd drop by to let you know here as well: my trip has also been extended! I am planning on being at MK tomorrow (I believe you are too??) So if you want some company, feel free to shoot my a PM, we can exchange numbers if you want! Don't mean to impede on plans, just offering!!
