Caught Without Antacid

Saturday night, as a birthday treat, DH went out and bought a huge order of Chinese Food (my all time favorite). After he got it home I relized that in no way did they supply enough Chinese mustard and proceeded to make a big bowl of it so we would have enough. At 2:30 a.m. we were both sitting on the edge of the bead with the worst case of heartburn ever and there was not a Tum or Rolaide in the house. I was even out of Baking Soda. Guess that's what I get for being a piglet.

Ouch! Next time try dairy products, preferably milk, to ease the pain.

Wish I had thought of that then, JTB. We wound up drinking Sprite to try to ease the situation. As you can imagine I on my way to the drug store this afternoon.

Oh yuck . I have a running script for Nexium. It's great. I really can eat whatever I want as long as I take these on a semi-regular basis and before I have a meal I know will eat up my stomach.

Isn't that just the most miserable feeling? I know that milk will help and sometimes just eating a saltine will help too.

You might as well buy some simethicone while you're at it, that's a good thing to keep as well as antiacids.

That is a most miserable way to spend a night. By a bottle for every room of your house, lol. Saturday we had my youngest ds birthday party and I ate some little sausages in bbq---man that was a killer alll night long--no rolaids here either since I normally only need them when Im pg.

We rarely have heartburn problems, but i know we both over did it with the mustard. I've never been caught short like that and I never will again.

Oh I hate when that happens. I usually eat saltines or pretzles and drink some Coke (regular). That seems to help me if I don't have tums around.
