not really surprised considering his age. He was forewarned so he can only blame himself. No tv or computer for a week. thankfully we deleted cookies and online files folder so hopefully wont get any popups.

We used to get those pop ups alot, not anymore, took care of that. Pretty nasty pics!

Ah, don't ya love this age? Sounds like you handled it well. Glad to hear that you didn't freak out and think that your child is going to turn into a deviant. This a normal part of growing up. I know it's hard. I have 3 girls and thankfully, as of right now, any mention of sex gets a "GROSS!" comment from them.(around me that is. Who knows how they talk with their friends) I know that won't last forever though. Hugs to you. Time to put the major parental controls on.

Did you also delete "History"? You're right, probably something most kids in that age group would do. That is why it is so important for parents to monitor their children TV viewing, cell phone photo usage (as best they can), and internet sessions...don't rely on software or society to do the job of parenting for you. Kudos to Hogfan for taking reasonable appropriate action, and not "over reacting" as some parent would and for taking appropriate steps to delete the system memory of those sites.

Hogfan, That happened to me a year ago! I immediately got Content Watch to block such stuff from my computer. Our computer is located in the livingroom. I will not allow my DS to have a computer with internet access in his bedroom.

TC :cool1:

Did you place restrictions on your computer like password protect it and/or use software or blocks like CyberSitter?

GL!

Happened to us when DS was ten! One of his "friends" at his old school told him about this great website, which is also heavily advertised late at night on some channels.

We didn't get mad, just sat him down for a talk on why it is not appropriate viewing. Haven't had issues since and he is now 12.

I did put a password protector on it,so now I have to log him on. Also got McAfees blocker for questionable websites.

You may want to run an spyware program as well. Those sites can embed cookies pretty deeply into your system. ad-aware is a good one.
