Cats??

DH "helped" on this incident, but it is still very funny.

When we lived in FL, we had a large screened in patio which you could access from both the living room and the master bedroom through sliding glass doors. We then had two cats and a very hyper dog. The dog was new to the family and the cats were having a hard time adjusting. One day, when the dog was at the vets getting spayed, and the weather was nice so we had the door to the patio open, the cats were very cautiosly exploring the patio. DH decided to "remind" them that a dog lived there, so he made a running leap into the patio from the living room, landing right by the cats. Both cats freaked and went running for the Master bedroom. Unfortunately, that door was not open. One right after the other, both cats hit the exact same spot on the master bedroom door, then ran for the living room door. DH was laughing so hard he couldn't even tell me what happened for about 10 minutes!

We have a basket in our kitchen that our cats like to sleep in. One of our cats, Sam, was in the basket sleeping. DD reached into the basket to pet him at the exact same time that my DH turned on the blender. Sam must've jumped 3 feet into the air---straight up! We all laughed so hard!

Jumped into my pants that were around my ankles while I was on the toilet. He got stuck in there and I couldn't get him out. I didn't find it too funny, but DH and DD laughed until they cried.;)

my cat that I had several years ago once took off out of my bedroom, I didnt have time to stop him, he was on a tear!

I had just mopped the kitchen floor and oiled the wood floors. He hit the kitchen floor in a dead run, skidded through the kitchen, dining room then hit the wood floors and tumbled tail over teakettle and landed in the firplace ( not burning of course) !

He was unhurt but very sheepish for awhile ;)

I had one cat that would join me in the bathtub. Would sit on the side and then just slip in up to his neck. He actually loved it. Looked dang funny though when we took him out all soaked.

We had a cat, who, when he wanted to be let in, instead of waint by the door and meowing, would jump, and land on the screen door part, and just hang on there until someone let him in.

Got scared and went inside the back of the wide screen TV and I thought she got out. when after an hr I looked downstairs she was just staring outside from the glass door. I t had to be the funniest thing. :D

With 4 cats we have many funny stories lol.

In my bedroom, I have a futon up against my closet doors and then in the far corner of the futon is a small nighttable shelf thing. Between nthe futon, the shelf, and the closet is a very small opening. One day I was sitting on my bed and my white kitty waslked in my room, jumped on the futon and walked across to where the shelf was.She put her left 2 paws on the futon and her right 2 paws onn the shelf then stuck her head in the opening...then slid down the opening. It was the funniest thing to watch.

My older cat was asleep on my desk and she was soo close to the edge. I looked up and saw her roll over...and fall right off.

THis is a HORRIBLE story, but once, Ted and I decided to take our cat Nickie out in the canoe.

She did okay, but then she started freaking. We started to pull the canoe up to our dock, and Nickie spied land. She had a harness on with a leash, which I was holding. She dove OUT of the canoe into the water. I immediately pulled her up by the harness and she fell out of the canoe and into the water on the other side. I let go and she swam the two feet to shore.

She looked like a drowned rat. I felt SOOOO BAD! We learned our lesson! No more kitties in the canoe.

It wasn't funny at the time ,but it always makes me giggle now!

My new kitten has twice crawled into my dog food bad and used it as a litter box. Amusing and annoying all at the same time. It's not like I feed my dogs the cheap stuff!

Not funny, but it will be one day and it happened this morning. We have two stories and the ceiling in our den is both stories. Well the stairs have banisters all across the second floor. Isis my baby stuck his head out of the banister this morning....all the while I'm saying "Isis come down the stairs" and he looks at the floor and jumps.....he landed on his feet and bounced and ran off. Terrified me!! John says "well there goes one life!"

Rafiki, your post reminded me of something that another of our cats used to do...

We got Tabitha (the cat) unexpectedly one morning. My dad had driven my mom to work very early one morning. On his way home, it was pouring rain. She was in the middle of the road, doing what, who knows. My dad, the animal lover, immediately scooped her up and brought her home. She looked like a little wet rat. She was a kitten at this time, all black, with bright gold eyes.

She was definetly a different cat. She could be loving at some times, but normally she was quite aloof. She loved the dog. Used to groom the dog once in awhile.

But the strangest thing she used to do was how she "pottied." No litter box for her. When she had to go, she would find an empty sink, climb in, squat directly over the hole, and go. If it was just to pee, it was fine. She had perfect aim, you would never know she had been there. However, she also used this method for number 2. So every so often, you'd go to a sink, and there would be a little present waiting for you. She did all of this with no training.

Sorry for the image!.

Was in a rush one night to go out after work and threw my pantyhose on the floor. Several hours later, I returned to see my kitten had worked his way down to the toe.

HAD to take a quick snapshot before I rescued him ;)

Denise < --- this was the same "male" cat from a pet store that later had kittens.

Yeah someone posted this before and I watched it over and over and laughed and laughed

We used to have a cat that would wait on us to come home. When my dd would step through the door, Butter would race across the front room jump onto the swivel rocker and race to the top. She would brace all four legs around the head cushion and wait for my dd to come and swing the rocker around in fast circles. Butter would hold on for dear life, but she loved it. She would do this whenever we came home.
