Cat's reaction to rabies vaccine?

Unless she had opted for the 1 year shot, which I heard was supposed to be better.

I did the three year, since the one year they were offering also contained the adjuvant. My vet offers the one year PureVax, which is what I used for my 1 year old cats. She told me once they have the 3 year, it's fine to keep giving it. Pharaoh had it three years ago and didn't have a reaction.

An interesting little FYI: England doesn't have rabies. They haven't had a single case of rabies in several decades (I forget how long.)

I was on some forum and a Brit said she didn't know what rabies was and that her cat didn't need rabies shots. I thought how can that be? Maybe she just didn't know to get one for her cat. But, I looked it up. The island of England irradicated rabies decades ago. They don't have to worry about random, rabid animals wandering over, since they are an island. They are super strict to not let in animals or there is a super-extensive regulations & procedures to go through to bring a pet into the country to live.

At least now I know that I can give benadryl. Had I known that last night, I would have tried that first. NOw I know the dosage and the sign of an allergy.

That's good....my little cat was really lethargic and feverish after her last shot when she was 4 months old....I'm worried to let her have any more. She doesn't go outside and she was clear on all tests so I am on the fence about getting anymore.

This same cat had a very hard time after the FVCRP shot. He was feverish and acted like he felt bad for about a week. None of my cats are getting anything except the rabies from now on, and if that wasn't required, I wouldn't get it either.
