I dont know....I am just confused how a person that claims to be Catholic....

The "pro-life" Republican Catholics openly disagree with the Pope on the issue of Iraq, so it should come as no surprise that Democratic Catholics openly disagree with the Church on occassion.

EDIT to add: How many abortions and deaths have been caused by a lack of medical care to Iraq's pregnant women?

Well, then call me pro-choice. I would never have an abortion, personally. I was raised Catholic and would not consider it. In fact, I declined some prenatal testing with DS because it wouldn't make a difference if he was Downs Syndrome or not.

HOWEVER- I was taught that "Judge not, lest ye be judged." I try to live by that. What a woman chooses is between her and God, and not me. If it is a sin, then God will take care of it. Not my place to judge, any more than it is my place to judge those who commit adultery...

I also feel God is the ultimate judge. I was also taught to respect and protect life....especially those who are unable to protect themselves.

No need to get hung up on the abortion issue. There are No "greater sins"...just a sin. Abortion, Murder, Suicide, Adultery, Pre-Marital Sex are all JUDGED THE SAME according to the bible and the Catholic faith.

I was raised a Roman Catholic, I am no longer practicing (not that the church wants me...I'm divorced from a abuser, and therefore not worthy of the church). However, the rest of my practicing Roman Catholic family is voting for Obama.

Abortion isn't the only issue.

My Catholic Church would welcome you with open arms! :grouphug:

My Catholic priest encouraged me to leave my abusive husband.

My entire family is catholic. Practicing catholic .... parents had 17 kids and now we have over 100 cousins. Anyway, only two are voting for Obama, but they are on welfare so go figure on that one.

12 years of Catholic school here and Republican turned Democrat ...thankyouverymuchmrbush. VOTING FOR OBAMA:thumbsup2

Catholic born and raised, raising our three kids Catholic, and my oldest son, husband and I are all voting Obama.

Guess I'm in the minority.. I'm a Catholic voting for McCain. :confused3

I think it depends on where you are - we're Catholic, and both DH and I are voting for McCain/Palin. In fact, none of the Catholics that I know are voting for Obama/Biden.

I believe the Catholic vote for President is about evenly divided....just like the rest of our great country.

True. I know very few Catholics (outside the DIS) that are voting Democrat.

I guess we'll see what happens!

A questionable war is your opinion, Neglecting the enviornment and turning its back on the poor? Where? Just because global warming isn't the issue we love the most, doesn't mean we neglect the enviornment.

So you're saying that the Republican party is a steward for both the poor and the environment?

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
