Are there any Catholic churches that have mass Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings really close to Disneyworld, and what's the best way to get to them? Anyone have any experience finding one during your trip? Thanks for any suggestions you have! We'd like to attend mass while we're at Disney for the week. Thank you!!!!

when I was a young girl (early 80's), I swear we went to Catholic Mass on Sunday at the Polynesian - it was outside.Anyone remember that??

Really? That would be amazing if they have a weekly mass onsite! Anyone know?

Many moons ago they did Catholic Mass at the Poly every Sunday. They do not do this any more (except for Christmas ... I don't think they even go Easter Mass there any more).

The closest Catholic church is Mary Queen of the Universe.

Corpus Christi Catholic Church is located in Celebration, and just a stone's throw away from Disney property. We went to Mass at this lovely parish this past October. It was nice to take a little tour of Celebration..some nice shops, and restaurants.

We've always gone to Mary Queen of the Universe but this time we are going to Corpus Christi in Celebration. Cab ride can be expensive--even though its a short trip. But if you don't have a car, that's about it. We were also lucky enough to go to Mass at the Poly in 2001, but that was the first and last time.

A "little" :offtopic:, but not really, you can find mass times at churches all over the United States at masstimes.org. They also link you to the church website if they have one so you can call and confirm the mass schedule.

Mary Queen of the Universe used to celebrate Mass at various locations in Disney. The shortage of priests put an end to that. We go to mass there when we're at Disney.

In 2009 and 2010 they have Easter Sunday mass at the Contempory resort.

I go to mass weekly at home and I really thought about Easter but the parks just pulled me in.

it used to be such a fun part of our trips when we were kids . It was so strange to not be in a church. (but I remember how hot it always was! in luau cove)

We now get over to Mary Queen of the Universe, though if we don't have a car the cab ride can be expensive, unless you take buses to DTD and get a cab from there.

I remember mass at the Poly well.
It really was something to go to mass, where we later went to a Luau.

Safe travels.

If you're so inclined, they also do daily mass at 8 -- makes it tough to be at RD, but life is full of choices...

Just bumping this for a few answers. Some on another thread say there is a "quick route" to the Shrine and to tell the cab driver; it will cost about $10 less does anyone know this route?? Is it shorter taking the cab from DTD to the Celebration church? We will be there this weekend and could use any help...thank so much! :flower3:

We attended Mass at the Poly for years. It was nice to not have to travel off property. There were two Sunday Masses and they were packed!

Masses were discontinued more because of insurance liabilities than priest shortages. Such a shame. ;-(
