Catholic churches/mass near Disneyworld?

Just so you're aware, the Shrine has no regular congregation on which to rely for financial support, depending solely upon the mass offerings of tourists, their generous additional gifts, and any revenue it can garner from the meager sales at the gift shop.

As for how to get there, I'm only aware of one way -- leave the WDW resort at 535, then head east, turn left at Vineland, and proceed past the infamous Shell station until you get to the Shrine.

You should also be aware that traffic before and after mass is very heavy as everyone leaves the Bascillica onto Vineland. When we have gone there is usually a police officer directing traffic. Also, there are two collections one to support the ministry and another to support the Bascillica.

We are actually staying at POFQ so we have the direct boat right to DTD...so that would be a blessing! We will go to the 6:00 pm Sunday evening as that would be a wonderful relaxing way to end out first full day in WDW. So I guess a cab it is. Is there a particular cab I should grab? Are some more favorable than others?

Just an FYI about the boat to DTD - boats run every 15 to 20 mins at that time of day, and it's about another 20 minute boat ride to DTD. If you're going to catch the cab from there, allow yourself enough time for that. The boat is a more relaxing way to get to DTD than the buses, but not much faster at that time of day IMO.
