Hello! I am new here!

I was wondering what people thought of the Cat. 8 staterooms? We are currently booked into Cabin 6520 but we can still change the room. Do you think it is worth the extra $$ to go from the 9 to the 8? Or should we go the slightly more money route & get a navigator's verandah? What do you think of those verandahs?

We have cruised many times in the past but never on DCL & never with a verandah so we're not totally sure what we should do!

Thank you all for any help you can provide!!!!

Allison,
On our first cruise last year, we were booked in a category 9 cabin. Being our first cruise, I think we would have been happy with just about anything. However, we took a look at the cabins with verandas while on board to see if the difference was worth it, and actually ended up liking the category 9 so much better! The layout was better in our cabin, and the only difference I could see was the veranda. Seeing how much time you actually spend in the cabin, it wasn't worth it for us. I was happy too having the extra cash for excursions, souvenirs and pictures! We spend a fortune on our pictures so take that into consideration as well!
Have fun!!

I have to agree. We have cruised two times (1 Disney/1 Big Red Boat) and are planning our third (DC) in December. When we cruised on Disney we had a category nine with the large port hole. It was wonderful! My daughter and husband thought so too. So I have the same category booked for our December cruise.

Thank you both, I really appreciate it! We did end up going with the category 8 because our friends that we are traveling with will be on that same deck--much easier to coordinate everything that way! ;)

I really appreciate your willingness to answer & share your experiences!

Tweetsie I hope you have a great time on your December cruise!

Thank you! :D

Our last cruise was in a Cat 8 and we loved it! It was roomy and the huge porthole window gave so much light! We previously had a Cat 10, which was the same layout/size as Cat 8 but without a window. I think having the window was worth the extra money, it didn't feel as closed-in. We also liked being on Deck 6, as you will be, positioned 3 decks below the pool area and a couple floors above the restaurants; easy to take the stairs to anywhere.

Hope you have a wonderful cruise!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
