Are there any category 6 rooms that sleep 4 that are NOT connecting? Have looked at the ship's diagram through Disney's site but am not sure. When we booked our TA said that all category 6 rooms connect to another room. Doesn't seem right - is it? Thanks.

We're in 6608 right NOW on the Magic...........1 queen bed, 1 sofa sleeper and one pull down bunk. We have no adjoining room door.

I put in a cruise search for 4 passengers on Travelocity. They came back with available, Cat. 6 cabins 6118, 6532, 6534, 6540, 6610, 6618, and 6616. They only give you a certain number of available cabins so I'm sure there are lots more.

I'd call your TA again, or get another one.

All category 6 cabins do not connect to each other, at least not the ones that I've stayed in. The cabins that we do stay in,do only sleep 3 however. None of the 6's on deck 5 connect and it looks like about 22 of them on deck 6 connect.
Hope this helps alittle.

There are category 6's that hold 4 people and do not connect, but they are very limited in numbers compared to connecting ones and category 6's that hold 3 people. It seems that there are MANY more category 5's that hold 4 people and don't connect than category 6's. It's also possible that all of the non-connecting category 6's for the sailing you're interested in, has no more of that room type left. If you really want a non-connecting cabin (and I'm one of them) and there truly isn't anymore left, I'd upgrade to a category 5. It only cost $200 more ususally, and to me that's money well spent!!!

What's the difference between a category 5 and a category 6 room?

Category 6's are on deck 5 and deck 6, category 5's are on deck 7. Other than the deck difference, there is no difference in the rooms. DCL charges a premium to be on the higher deck.

Category 5 is on Deck 7. Category 6 is on Deck 5 and Deck 6. That's the only difference. The stateroom rooms are identical.

Far aft Category 5 and Category 6 staterooms have solid white metal below the verandah railings. The vast majority of Category 5 and Category 6 staterooms have plexiglass below the verandah railings.

I'm not sure why spending more money for Category 5 would be "money well spent," or why it would even be considered an upgrade (unless someone really wants to be one floor closer to Deck 9, or considers the view from 10 feet higher to be much better).

I can vouch for the fact that some of the Cat. 5s have connecting doors and it's to be avoided if you don't need it. Our room (7518) had a connecting door and our neighbors in that room were extremely noisy. Most of the noise we heard seemed to come straight through the door. I could tell you the names of their kids and recite--almost word for word--the various screaming fights that they invariably had at 6:30 a.m. or 10:30 p.m.

We had 6108, 4 people, no connecting door. I think there are something like less then 20 category 6 rooms on deck 6 that hold 4 people. Iseem to remember reading that in the Passporter.

This makes me very happy that I booked so far out and got one of the Cat. 6 cabins on deck 6 that isn't a connecting cabin (we have cabin #6042). I didn't realize that so many of them were connecting.

Hmmm.....Before hitting "Submit Reply" I decided to pull out my Disney Cruise brochure. Unless I am mistaken, I just counted about 70+ cat 6 cabins on deck 6 that weren't connecting. Then about 44 cabins that connect with another cabin. (22 "sets" of cabins, I mean).

Anyway....didn't mean to contradict, my curiosity just got the better of me. ::yes::

P.S. The above numbers are approximates, my eyes aren't fully opened yet. LOL :faint:

EDITED TO ADD: Ok. Ignore this post. I just reread what laurenk wrote and I totally read it wrong. She was talking about cat 6's that hold 4 people, NOT cat. 6's that connect. LOL SORRY!!
:o :o

There are definitely Cat 6 rooms which are not connecting. Unfortunately, I don't remember which cabin we had, but it was a not connecting cat 6 which faced CC on the day we docked there. My daughter woke me with "Isn't that the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" The view from the verandah was lovely, and ranked right up there with the giraffe coming very close to the balcony at AKL. That was another of those "Mom, get up right now" moments...and mom went to the other animal viewing areas in her bathrobe....

We have a Cat 6 no connecting room!!

SeaSpray - I agree....there seems to be more non-connecting Cat 6 than connecting.

Seaspray- I meant less than 20 that hold 4 people. Sorry I wasn't clear. I just got out my Passporter. It says"22 Category 5 rooms and 14 Category 6 rooms sleep four...." That isn't very many in the grand scheme of things is it?!?!?!? It goes on to say that 21 Category 4 rooms sleep 5.

OKay, I guess I should read entire posts too:D I just saw your edit at the bottom. I'll leave the info. in case someone finds it interesting.

We were just in Cabin 6610. According to the charts...this appeared to be an adjoining room. It slept 4 and for the life of me I don't remember seeing a door. However, it was what i call a "Creeky" room!
