Category 12?

We have never had a cat 12 but have stayed in a cat 8 and a cat 5. The verandah is nice but we set foot out on it once during our cruise. We noticed that the floor and funiture on the verandah was covered in this black dirt so we had no interest in going out there because of this. We were very pleased with our cat 8 and booked a SPH on level 5 for our next cruise. The port hole is huge and we love the morning sunlight. We will not pay extra for a verandah again. I know some cruisers LOVE their verandah and some even would not cruise without one but we do not feel the same. If this is your first cruise you could try a cat 12 or maybe upgrade to a porthole but I wouldn't pay extra for a verandah until you decide if cruising and DCL is really for you. Anyway you look at it you will have a great time.

Compare the price of a CAT-12 and a CAT-7 (or CAT-6), then see if the $$$ is worth the veranda. Note that DECK 7 and 8 aft are underutilized and you can get your fix there - for free!

My DF cruises all the time. When I asked her for advice on what type of cabin to get on our upcoming cruise, her advice was to book what you could afford. "It was better to be ON the boat then to NOT BE ON the boat." :) :)

we always book a veranda. one our 3 day nothing on the deck was covered in black. it might have been by change. DCL prides them selves for clean ships. so i think someone wasnt doing there job. if its not clean contact someone onboard and they will clean it. i think most cruise ships are that way but as my DW says "if it's not DCL we are not going"

My hubby and I love catagory 12 inside. We had plenty of room and really liked being able to nap during the day. We have been on 5 Disney cruises and have also booked the Navigator Verandah. For the price difference we will stick with a cat 12 or 11.

Just cruised Cat 11 and found it just fine. We were in the cabin only to change and sleep. Save your $ for excursions and souv.

My favorite cat11 room is 5001. I love the layout of the room, and the location is great!!! It doesn't have a split bathroom which is also another plus for me. We request this room whenever we cruise on DCL.
