A belated "Merry Christmas", and EARLY "Happy New Year" from SideshowBob to all of my friends, arch-rivals, and those how fall somewhere in between....
Had Christmas with kids pre-travel last Sunday, so this week has been an odd one, and days all mixed up... haha!
Did catch a few films, you have to love this season:
TWO WEEKS NOTICE ** 1/2
Good energy between Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock. Don't see if she annoys you at all, as brings lots of her quirks to the film, but I have always kind of liked her, so ok with SSB. Good, simple, story and some good laughs.
LOTR:THE TWO TOWERS ***
Sorry, all you "Ring" fans, but can't give this film more, although beautiful to watch in many ways. One thing that bothers SSB is some similarities between the Harry Potter series of films and this one. The computer generated beings in both were just too similar to me, kept reminding me of the other. Strange, but then again, I am stange. Sweeping, l-o-n-g film ... but very well done. I think better than the first installment.
THE SOPRANOS - SEASON TWO ****
Guess SSB has been "Sleepin' with the fishes" for too long, as never had gotter into "The Sopronos". A fellow DIS'er (TigH) lent me first season and I really found it quite remarkable. I have just about finished Season Two via Netflix, and even better! I am sure that all of you have seen, but WOW! Like that Carmela character a lot also...
Thinking Big P may not make it out of season two, but don't tell SSB.
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN ***
Very good character developlment of both DeCaprio's and Tom Hank's characters. Kind of a melding of "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Blow" ... haha! Great dialogue, in particular. Would strongly recommend, but does have long running time, somewhere around 2:45 SSB thinks, but goes by quickly.
Hope that you all had GREAT Christmas season, and have a fantastic year end, and wonderful NEW YEAR!!!!!
