Catastrophe with DVC Member Services and a reservation.

There are serious IT issues going on right now that they have admitted to me on 2 seperate occasions within the past few weeks.
 
Sorry, but a catastrophe at MS would be a fire that included deaths. You just had an unfortunate problem.

I thought something really bad had happened like explosion, fire etc...geez that title is little much. This is a vacation glitch....they will fix it.

While I hope everything works out, which I am sure will, please change the title? I also thought maybe an explosion or something!

Yes, yes and yes. Honestly, I was afraid someone had gone in there and opened fire on the staff.:sad2:

Actually Carol, with all due respect, the suggestion that the OP change the title is a good one. I honestly was afraid to open the thread for fear that something terrible had happened.

I guess in this day and age of Al-Qiada (sp?), terrorists, safety and paranoia, sarcasm doesn't fly to well. :cool2: Again! For all those worried, I changed the title.

On to the good stuff.....:cool1:

Well, I called first thing this morning I explained the situation and they immediately contacted a supervisor who corrected everything. My points were returned to DVC, $95 fee refunded and I was rebooked at the BCV in a studio for the 26th and 27th. Wheew!

I just wanted to say that the CM on the phone both times were very accomodating and helpful. It was not their fault at all, but a computer issue.

Apparently they have a new system and their old system running parallel now. Except, on the new system...if a room isn't available...it will popup the next best room. Well, that room could be at any resort at any level.

She gave me an example:
A caller wanted a club level room at the Contemporary. The rooms are all booked. The system then brings up another room. Well, that room could be at the contemporary or clear accross the resort at the Grand Floridian. The CM's only get a very brief/generic description of the room. A CM has to be very careful to realize what the system is feeding back to them.

So, it's really a training issue/a new reservation system combined issue.

Thanks again for all your support and I shouldn't have doubted MS at all that they wouldn't fix the issue.

I've never had much of any problem with Disney while visiting the past 8yrs in a row. They are great and the CM's are great people.:thumbsup2

glad it worked - and yes, those of us, and I'm sure others, that live in the NYC area, tend to get tweaked by the original title!! It's too bad, but this is todays world!!

i had thought something was up @ MS, i called twice this week (once 1st thing to book @ 11 month window, took so long:rolleyes: i was afraid the room would be gone before i got the confirmation #) yet all went well

2nd incident involved making ressie @ hoop de doo & using the DP. I kept telling the 1st CM that with DP i could book Category #1 @ 9:30 show. She insisted "no", so i gave my CC info guarantee & settled for category #2.

I rechecked the info online after call concluded & called MS back, again was told "no". I requested that a supervisor be consulted, turned out i was right:) . Good thing i fussed though, evidently my CC had been charged in full for the cost:confused: & supervisor discovered it. (FYI, when on the DP the CC is a guarantee only & info is only processed if u don't cancel 48 hrs prior)

I was given a cancellation # for 1st ressie, and was told my CC would be refunded with 5 business days:confused3
 
They must be using the waltdisneyworld.com reservation system now....

"Hmm...lets see...room only, 2 nights...2 adults...2 kids...ages...lets shoot for Caribbean Beach...standard view...*click*

"Whoa...almost said OK on that one. Why it it showing me package prices for the Grand Floridian?!?...I want Caribbean Beach...*click*
