I was wondering what the price difference would be for a catagory 1 compared to two catagory 5. We (dh, dd, ds) are traveling with my da and dn and have booked two catagory 5 rooms. I've been looking at the layout of the catagory 1 and there would be more than enough space for the 7 of us. If the price is not that much greater than paying for two rooms and it's available it would be wonderful. I'm proably just dreaming but it can't hurt to dream.

The only way to get the exact price would be to contact DCL and get a quote (or contact your TA if you're using one). Since there are only two on each ship, they are usually booked way in advance. I don't know for certain, but I would have to guess that a Cat 1 could be considerably more than two Cat 5s.

Hi there....

Figure approx 10,500.00 for the week cruise in Cat #1 - against your total for the 2 cat 5's.

Cat 2 - figure about 8500.00 for the week

Cat 3 - figure about 7000.00 for the week

The first time we cruised we booked cat 1 rather than 2 cabins. We had 7 people and more room than we needed. the whole experience was amazing, but you get spoiled. Last year stayed in 2 cabins-cat4 and 8-no suites were available. the cruise was just as wonderful, but we missed the suite. are booked on Aug 2 in cat 1--booked 2 years ago and can't wait. is it worth the extra money- that depends on you and your situation. The extra amenities were nice, but the suite was fantastic--but a lot more money--we don't splurge that often so for us it was worth it. Beth

I was on the wait list for a category 3 suite for our cruise which finally came through. I decided to stay with our 2 cabins, a categoy 6 and category 11 for the kids as the price difference was huge, it was over $12,000 for the category 3 versus $7200 for our 2 cabins. I just couldn't justify the difference. Now if that had been the category 1, then maybe I would have gone for it. I take too many vacation however, and don't want to give any of them up.

Hi there...

What time of year was this?

I have a Cat 3 booked for 7400.00total? I had Ccat 1 quoted for the same week and it was 10,500.00.

We are cruising on the June 7th cruise. Disney called my AAA agent, she didn't even know that I had requested that as I had orginally booked on my own. The $12,000 quote was for a family 5, 2 adults, a 10 year old, 13 year old and a daughter who's turning 15 on the day we leave! I was shocked at the price, not what I expected at all.

Hi - that sounds so high - my one week cruise is August 2004 - and it's 7400.00 - but of course there is only 2 of us. And like I said - Cat 1 was 10,500.00.

Could the difference be the extra people?
