Hi all
When will Disney be taking reservations for June, July, and August 2004 ? I am dying for a Cat 1 for that time frame. What is the best way to try to grab one?
Thanks
Sheryl

Hi Sheryl

Call DCL and they will give you the info. We had to FAX our request to Inventory Control. I hope this helps.:sunny: :sunny:

The best way to get a category 1 is to call often and be FLEXIBLE. We called 2 years ago (Nov 2000) and got the last category 1
of this year (happened to be Nov 2, 2002 - teachers week in New Jersey) so we only have 44 days to go until the Walt Disney Suite. Can't wait !!!!

If I may ask, what are the prices for a Cat 1? And is it really worth it? What are the added benefits besides Concierge Services?

Thank you!

DCL told me that the only way to get a Cat 1 or 2 was to book a Land & Sea package, but that we could be put on a wait-list since we're doing cruise only. Is that correct?? Why wouldn't it be first-come, first-served?

Justmestace, that is true for the WONDER. They save the Cat. 1 and 2s for the land/sea package folks but they DO open them up 30 days prior to a sailing date if they have not booked up with a package.

Oh and Kurry, yep Cat. 1s are really expensive....on the 7-night cruise they are typically about $4000 - $4800 per person for the first and second passenger and about $400 - $1000 per person for any others in the cabin. :)

I booked my Category 1 in June 2001, for the cruise in March 2003.

Bear in mind that there are approximately 50 Magic cruises a year, two Disney Suites per cruise...that means only 100 families each year will be able to enjoy it. Add 200 more for the 3 and 4 day, and they go VERY quickly.

My advice?

I agree with the person who said "be flexible". That's the first thing.

The second thing is to understand that you'll have to book it almost 18 months out, so when you're near the time you want to cruise, call, EVERY day. Unfortunately, you may not get the same info twice, so call twice a day if it helps.

The cruise for my DW and three kids cost about $10,000. We love the extra space, the service and the perks. We usually low-key things at home, but LOVE to vacation "first class".

We can't wait!!!
