Unfortunately, you should never book anything less than what you are willing to cruise in. If you had book all 4 people in a Cat 12, you would have been guaranteed to be upgraded because a 12 only holds 3 people. This is exactly why I do not book a Cat 12 for my DH and myself. I guess it is still possible that you will be upgraded, however, they may upgrade one room and not the other too. Just remember, somebody travels in those Cat 12 rooms, not everybody can be upgraded.

if it makes you feel any better, your getting to spend Christmas on the Disney Magic and I am spending it in -40 degree weather.:rotfl:

I was really just looking for someone who had sailed in this category to give me a "pep talk".

Just making sure you checked the cabin numbers, because DCL's web site will still say you're in a cat. 12 - even when they upgrade you to a higher category.

I don't know how you can be upset by getting assigned what you booked and not sure what you were looking for when you called DCL about your cabin assignments.
There's no way you have been singled out. You have not heard from everyone that has booked cat. 12's, only a small amount of cruisers are also DIS'ers.

On the bright side, you are still well over a month away from sailing and there's the possibility your cabin may be reassigned. Assignments are not guaranteed until you check in at the port when booking a GTY.

I can understand being disappointed about getting a cat. 12 cabin - especially when you read here that so many others have gotten 11's, 10's, or 9's.

I stayed in a CAT 12 and then next cruise I was ungraded to a CAT 10 aft deck 2. I much prefered the CAT 12, the 10 I had in the back of the ship was so creaky I thought the ship was going to split in half one night.

The CAT 12 at the front of the ship are a great location, I wish I could request not to be upgraded.
