I have come on here let my frustrations out!!! (so I apologise in advance!!)

I live in a cul de sac with 10 houses. I think just about every house is cat owners except us (we are the only dog owners!!) Its an open plan cul de sac and most people have block paving or grass on the front.

We are block paved but in the middle we have a willow tree the base is a large circle which is covered in colourful pebbles. We only got it done about 2 months ago ...however seems that every cat is using it as a litter tray!!. For the past month not a day goes by that there is not a poo there. Today I was welcomed home from work with a record breaking 5 poos!. All the stones are all over the front... I am getting so mad and I dont know what to do!.

When I take my dog for a walk I clean up after him.....sorry to all you cat lovers but its disgusting that I have to clean up after neighbours cats and my kids have to see it everyday.....(sorry once again....rant over! ;) )

I fully understand, we have no pets but have no real issue with cats or dogs.

Can you not put something down that will make them go elsewhere, pepper or something? I would definitely consider it , after all it is you who are being inconvenienced not the owners....failing that set the dog on them .....................(just joking) :)

Yes, there are products that you can buy that will repel the cats. Please look on-line or ask at your local pet shop.

We have 2 kittens but are keeping them as house cats. We had a problem with one not using the litter tray so we got some spray from the pet shop which breaks down the remains of urine or poo so they don't do it there again it worked for us. You could try spraying the pebbles with it. If that doesn't work try orange peel good luck.

I believe Lion dung works very well.

We used to have the same problem in our front garden, very annoying as we don't have any pets of our own and I certainly have no desire to clean up after other people's. :( Anyway, we bought an ultrasonic pest repeller and fixed that to a tree and voila - no more cat poo!! Can't recommend it enough! I can't remember what the make of ours is, but as they all work on the same principle it doesn't really matter - your local garden center will stock them. :cloud9:

We've found that putting a plastic drink bottle (500ml) full of water on our front garden keeps cats off!

Out next door nieghbour told us about it - and it seems to work!

When we had a cat he went through a stage of pooing in our solid fuel bunker. We cured it by leaving orange peel there. Apprently they don't like the smell. Could you cope with orange peel around your tree for a few weeks? IMHO it's better than cat poo!

I'll ditto Gill - I use tiger poo from the local wildlife sanctuary
