I have an almost 3 yr old male cat that I had to bottle feed when he was a baby. well--3 yrs later and he is a big boy now. the only problem is that he will find me when he's tired and nurse on my fingers until he falls asleep. he's doing it now, so i have to type with 1 hand . it's all cute and cuddly until it's 3 am and he starts pawing at the blankets to unbury my fingers. any one else have this problem? the vet says he will grow out of it. WHEN?

I don't know if they grow out of it.

I have a female cat who's 4. She loves to jump up on the bathroom sink to lick the faucet. At first I thought it was for the water that drips out, but when I take a closer look, it's more a nursing action. As some of the licks don't even come close to the water dripping out. I think it's just soothing to her.

I used to have an adult dog that used to love to drink from a spray bottle of water. Again, it reminded him of a nipple.

I suggest shooing your cat away at 3AM. Teach him that that is not an appropriate time, if he's digging under the covers, & will no longer be tolerated.

I have two girls that i bottle fed from 1 day old. "the minnies" are about 9 yrs old now and one of them still "nurses" sometimes. A friend of mines cat is prob about 3 ish and he likes to suck on towels .
